How do you make a unit obsolete?

Is it done in the civ4unitInfos.xml file?

I can see there what I can upgrade the unit to, but often in mods I am still building units that can immediately be upgraded to a couple different units.

How does the game know when to take a unit off the build menu?

thanks.

That was lol-worthy

I am confused.... how is this original question in the wrong forum?

MaxRiga, thanks for the link to the other thread, but that doesn't really answer the question.

I see in the civ4unitsinfo.xml file what units you can upgrade to, so are you saying that if any of the units under the <UnitClassUpgrades> tags are available, then the warrior cannot be built?

I'm thinking TheBladeRoden was referring to the other post.. anyway...

Seven05 had this to say in another thread...

From what that thread says, it appears that the unit cannot be built once all of the upgrade options are available.

I just found it funny that the guy linked to a thread where the main feature was he himself getting reproached for posting in the wrong forum.
