I can just about beat Monarch now, but one thing I've never done is run a SE economy. I'm using GP Farms a bit more than I used to now, which may be why I'm able to keep up with the AI on Monarch a bit better now. But I've never done an SE economy!
Whats the basic idea? Is it really as simple as putting farms on everything and then running the specialists? Happiness must become a bigger issue than usual... I presume Monarchy with a lot of cheap hammer units to push the happiness up? Do I use specialists in every commerce city or do some cottage cities still have to be made?
What scenario makes a SE economy a good choice to use over a cottage economy? More food resources is an obvious guess, what else?
