How do you take a screenshot in civbe?

I tried using the prtscn button and then pasting into image editing software. Works for other games, but for civbe it gives me a black screen

Don't paste into the image editing software -- it appears that BE printscreen doesn't send anything to the clipboard.

Just open the .tga file in the BE screenshots folder (path should be something like C:\Users\Home\Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization Beyond Earth\screenshots).

Steam should have a screenshot key in the steam client to be defined.

F12 is the default Steam screenshot key. Works fine for me in CivBE.

The steam screenshot (F12 as above) works much better than the printscreen because steam takes the screenshots in the normal jpeg format.

Yes, for some unknown reason Firaxis has been overriding the default OS behavior for the printscreen button since Civ IV.
