How do you turn off global warming? (have tried posted methods)

Me and my friend are playing a BTS game and global warming started ripping the map apart and starving our cities (Marathon pace, us and 12 AI's). Needless to say we were enjoying our game without every tile randomly turning to desert.

So I read through a bunch of posts and everyone seems to say:

go to ASSETS/xml/GlobalDefines.xml and change:

<DefineName>GLOBAL_WARMING_PROB</DefineName>
<iDefineIntVal>20</iDefineIntVal>

to

<DefineName>GLOBAL_WARMING_PROB</DefineName>
<iDefineIntVal>0</iDefineIntVal>

I have done this and global warming continues to happen, I also tried changing the part from deserts to grass and it still turns to deserts. What am I doing wrong? Thanks

Try resetting the cache by holding shift during startup. That usually works. Either that or you edited the wrong expansion pack.

I dont know what you did but I followed directions and have not had global warming yet
