How does the Guilds by Vincentz work?

Guilds are exactly like corporations in BtS. Exactly like corporations. There are a couple of unusual guilds (Such as the equestrians guild, which proves a horse resource and 4 :hammers: to the city, or the Artists Guild (I think it is called) which provides 8 :culture:), but mostly they consume some resources, and output more resources and/or :hammers:/:commerce:/:science:/:gold:/:culture:

However, Corporations in RoM and AND are slightly different. Not only do they do everything they used to do, but they also come with a unique building which massively increases the benefits of the corporations. But beware: Some guilds compete with some corporations, so you will need to pay the additional 'buy-out' price to spread your corporation,, if you want the additional benefits!
 
No, a lot of these guilds don't give anything, that I can tell. When my current game gets to that point I will post a screen shot. Though I loaded teh latest beta so it may work correctly now. :D I will report back.
 
A screenshot would be cool... but what guilds don't? What are thier names?

Some guilds require resources. If you don't have the resources, then they don't give anything.

Others don't require resources... they always give a flat rate of :hammers:, :commerce:, :gold:, :beakers:, :culture: or resources, regardless of your empire (These guilds are GREAT for small empires)
 
In 1.73 Guilds had no obsolescense date. It was quite ridiculous to be able to build an Artists Guild or Whatever Guild in 2058 in the Future Era. I haven't included it in my 1.73beta3 install. Should I have?

What? Guilds have obsoleted since 1.6x. Did you see the Obsolete Tech info for them? They are even on the tech screen.
 
No they are working right, now. They do work a bit differently then regular corporations, or have those changed, I can't tell you the last time I made it that far into the game, in AND

I didn't have a screenshot because I had already updated, what spurred the thought was the custom install, I was deciding whether or not to install guilds. Turns out it was working, though my game has been running buggy, I am going to try the official release to see if the issues were resolved before I report.

Did you incorporate my latest addition to the guilds?

I made a Guildhall for some of the guilds (Craftsmens and Servants), and balanced those that don't give anything by giving a better bonus. F.ex. the carpenters guild get a free specialist for every lumbermill built in city radius if the Carpenters Guildhall is built.
