I know England is a silly little land, but I utterly fail to see how a sad muffin can ever be called a 'pudding'.

Muffins are not flat. Muffins are like cupcakes that has bread where the icing should go.

Those aren't proper muffins. English muffins are flatbreads. Regardless, no type of muffin is similar to a Yorkshire Pudding.

Yes, but different ingredients.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not claiming they are a culinary delight but they are very different to English or US muffins.
