How long (in real time) do your typical games last for?

You can find this information, if you didn't know, by going to the "Info" screen and clicking on the "Statistics" tab, I believe, although this is just a rough estimate, anyways.

Please post how long your average games last - and, feel free to post in your reply if you play your games in an entire sitting or not ;)

I usually last about 7 hours. Two or three sittings and I'm done with a game. I usually stop at modern, as I find that to be the most boring part. And then I pick it up and finish.

I vote 15-19, depends on wheter i care about culture or just want to pillage and burn eveything.

Most of my games are between 2 and 5 hours long. I very rarely take more than 2 sittings to finish a game. Of course, I also don't tend to go for conquest or domination victories, which weights the results.

I think they average 4-6 hours, on normal gamespeed. Mainly because I mostly play the pacifist way, so in late game I only do building, workering, and the occasional ferrying of a great merchant.
However, lately my eyes were opened to the prospects of war and military, and I can see how games focused on conquest would last MUCH longer than peaceful games, because of all the tactical manouvering of troops involved.

Unfortunetely the Info screen doesn't stop counting when you leave Civ running by accident, or for some other reason. As I do this alot, I'm not really sure!

tbh, i very rarely finish a game, once i get in a commanding posistion i just simply leave it and start again, i also tend to get bored as the game enters into the modern day techs.

I only play Large maps on Marathon. Most of mine are 7-9 hours. My longest game was a Domination victory at 14 hours, but 2 or 3 of those were from leaving the game on while doing other things.

5-9 hours

I always start a new one and play in one sitting. However, sometimes I just don't finish. Picking up from a save is never interesting to me, so I just ditch it at start a new one.

0-4 for me. I know I play very fast. I've put together some HoF entries in less than 3 hours. The biggest reason for this is that it's 3 of us sharing the same computer. I'd never finish a game if I needed 20 hours of playing for it.

About 25 to 30 hours, but that's because i get bored as soon as i'm ahead and stop. If i played my games to the end, and for some reason went all the way to 2050 AD, the game would certainly take well over 100 hours.

I'm a perfectionist and a micromanager.

I've yet to finish a game :)

lol

My games usually last a long long time, takes months to finish them usually, but i play huge games with wars in most of them, so thats why it takes so long.

I like to play on tiny pang with three civs (simply because I can finish a game in one sitting) - so my games tend to last 3 to 4 hours

Up to 6 hours.

I estimate it takes me 48 hours to complete a game from start to finish, in the sense that a game I start on Friday, I finish on Sunday. I do have weekends off work, but there are still housework & sleep to worry about. As far as lumping together the hours I invest in the game, maybe about 15 hours. My playing style includes reloading when a missionary fails or a scout gets killed by a barb or I just want to try an alternate strat, so the game timer is not all that reliable.

I do know for sure that Civ4 games are a lot faster; games of Civs 2 & 3 used to take me WEEKS to finish!
