There are 3. I have 2 and mom has 1. I'm also considering getting a laptop and one of the old Macs from elementry school (for nostalogia purposes.)

I didn't have it "How many do you own" because other family members, or "How many you use" because that would also mean work, school...

I have 2. Both able to run and hooked together. I haven't turned on my backup for a couple months though. I live alone so don't need more. I have 3 more working PCs in storage.

5.

3 are mine
- One was bought from a student at college. It had a printer (which I needed), plus it also had Japanese Windows (which I was learning Japanese), and for $300, it was quite a bargain.
- Another is an older (about 10 years - Win98 SE) PC which has been through several upgrades.
- The current one is 3 years old and has been through 1 upgrade.

My parents have my sister's old laptop (used to be my uncle's I think). It's the one they use for the Internet.

And, my sister has a laptop from college (finally succumbed to trojans and viruses, and she's waiting for a replacement operating system CD).

Three:

One is my mother's. Two are mine, though I only use one. My older laptop was from college (and by my standards in gaming, outdated)

Counting only ones that work, there are six in this house. Three are mine.

at the moment 7 and some spare parts

Whoops, I voted 4. But I actually have five--the last one is a Windows 95.

5. 3 deskops and 2 laptops. we have a broken laptop, but I don't count that.

There all powerful enough to run ubuntu 8.04 so I can't complain.

At my parents house, and counting me, there are 7 working computers.

At the adult foster home I live in, again counting me, just 2 computers.

2 active
-Intel Pentium Dual Core e2180 (Vista Basic)
-Acer Aspire 3002WLMi (Ubuntu 8.04.1)

2 inactive
-Some AMD at 1,2GHz (Windows XP)
-My retro Pentium 166Mhz (Windows '95)

I've just moved into my new house, so right now I have 1 set up and working (my gaming rig), and one that needs to be fixed up a bit before it gets turned into a media station for my bedroom tv.

I have tons of parts lying around, but I usually give away my old PCs to family & friends.

At some point though, I want to build a PC to act as a radio station type thing - the monitor is gonna be on a wall in the livingroom somewhere, and i'd have some sort of interface that'll allow you to switch between internet radio streams. Shouldn't be that expensive to put together - and it'll come in very handy.

We've got 5 laptops as of 2 days ago. 2 Desktops, 1 server.

We've also got enough spare parts to build about a dozen pc's laying around the house. They would only be P3's and early P4's though.

My laptop, my mom's laptop, dad's work laptop and two desktops. Soon it will be six though because my mom is buying the same laptop as me and giving the old one to my sister.

Considering I now live at college 80% of the year, I voted one. It'll probably increase over the years, but right now there's not much benefit to having more than one.

When I'm at my parents' house, four, not counting the really ancient laptop that is never used because it's even older than the ancient laptop. Two used often (including the one I have at college), one that's Pentium II and only really used for OEM games installed on it, and a laptop that's really only useful for dial-up Internet when the broadband goes out. Technically actually two others, as there's an ancient desktop that won't POST because the clock battery died.
