How many people have used ICBM's in there game?

I used it on the several Arab cities (has NOTHING to do with the current threats about the US nuking Iran even though the Arabs are in the game) in one game where I had already conquered the indians and was ready to conquer the last civ, so I used the nukes to weaken their cities and units.

Iranians are not Arabs.

Yes, I Have used them to eliminate enemy defenders from cities. The AI loves to stack units in cities so when you have the tech lead some well timed nukes can help you march to victory.

I meant the mid-east situation in general, and yes I know the Iranians are not arabs, they are Persians.

and yea I timed it right, in fact I had a massive army with 40+ infantry and a whole lot of other units along the border and activated them right before the nuke barrage and then sent them in.

I used them a couple of times without that really meaning anything. In one game, though, they've actually been important to me. I had to invade Persia for a Domination victory, and the Persians were large and with a powerful army. didn't exactly fancy taking major casualties, so I used several nukes during the war.

I really don't like the fact that you have to have the tile you want to launch at uncovered

And they never seem to do much damage when I use them

You don't need to launch at an uncovered tile. If it doesn't let you launch, there's probably another problem. Such as an allied unit nearby.

I have never used then in a game. I'm usually done playing before they become available, I thought about using them once in one of my MP games but I decided it would be kinda of a cheap way to win so I decided against it.

You don't need to launch at an uncovered tile. If it doesn't let you launch, there's probably another problem. Such as an allied unit nearby.

I've never been able to fire a nuke at a fog covered tile

actually you can, you just can't use it on friendly territory. It was the same thing with me. Unless you mean the black unexplored areas instead of the darkened areas where you don't have any line of sight in.

You definitely should be able to nuke in the fog. You can not nuke:

1. Your territory.
2. Your units.
3. Friendly territory or units (friendly = civs you aren't at war with)
4. Any tiles adjacent to tiles that are 1, 2 or 3.

So if you're at war with England, and there are French units in English borders, and you're not at war with the French, you can't nuke any English tiles containing French units or adjacent to French units.

Other than that, you can certainly nuke in the fog.

Typically I've won befire I can get ICBM's going. But every now and then I like to play a fun game where I try to drop as many as I can. My record is somewhere in the upper 40's. There was global warming every turn.

i first tested one...

then in my next game i specifically bought many nukes i was very wealthy...

started a war campagin with 2 AI civs and nuked every single city

although they did not have the desired effect iwanted it too and i do know that i could have used them more strategically, but still it was crazy like every tile was glowing

recently i to finish my dommination victory,i was playing realism mod...nukes are stronger. i had a permanent alliance with cyrus and the two remaining civs had a permanent alliance

so to get my extra 3% population need to win... i declared war and nuked three largest cities

next turn i won by domination without fighting a a long hard war which is exactly what it would have been...

I've never built them in a game, even when I've run out the tech tree.

I played around with them after a victory once with worldbuilder interaction just to see the graphics for them and their explosions.
