I just got Conquests today and was wondering what (and how much) effect the "AI agression" setting has?

Has anyone played with this on different settings? I've read a fair bit of the Conquests forum and I can't find anything about it...

I was curious about this feature. So, if it set to normal, everyone behaves like they normally would? Now, if you set all Civs to random, are the civs still totally random, or are the picked based on agression level?

No, i think but im not sure, the civs are still picked by random but ther agression level is increased from what it normally is.

Oh, okay. So let's say you drew France, Greece, and Rome at random. If they were set to the lowest agression, they would all be much more peacful than usual no matter what the level. If you jacked them all up to 5, they would all be picking fights with you, also no matter what level you're on. Right?

correct

Thanks for the info folks! :)

I started a Monarch level game using the highest AI aggression. I was England, France and Germany were my neighbors. The AI built TONS of offensive units; mainly Longbows and Knights. I noticed that they fought a little bit more than usual, but not overly bad. They fought each other and they fought me. But I did not spend too much energy channelling their aggresion through the diplomacy screen. I think its manageable. In the end, I left the game because the wars were getting tedious and impedeing my growth. I also believe that the constant ai warfare left them with little cash to trade to me. I wanted to check out other features of C3C. So I dumped it.

In the Sengoku conquest most all warlord aggression level are set on 5(max) with a few on 4 . Has anyone anyone tried Sengoku with the highest aggression yet ? is there a difference between normal and high since the tribes aggression is already set to 5 ? ( after i finish the one I'm on now will try it on max to see) . if the highest level just puts all tribes to 5 then it won't make a difference in Sengoku

I played a round on chieftan/most aggressive just to see the difference. Normally the AI is very quiet on this level but they were not here. The initial phase of the game I was actually pretty close with the AI even on this low setting. It wasn't until the tech became a big factor that I pulled away.

Aggressiveness seems to effect both propensity for war and for expansion. They were also less afraid to declare war even though they knew I would slaughter them.

It works exactly as Padma said it does, putting all Civs on the highest aggression setting is the same as setting them all on 5 in the editor, so changing this in Sengoku would make almost no difference as the clans already are nearly all at 5.
