/***Step 01 - Setting Up the .biq & Scenario Folder***/

Step 01-01: Make sure you save the .biq (editor file) to the Scenarios Folder, and create a corresponding folder with the same name.

Step 01-02: Open your Scenario Folder, and create the following folders:

Art
Text

/***Step 02 - Adding Advisor Heads***/

Step 02-01: In the Art Folder, create an Advisors folder.

Step 02-02: In the Advisors Folder, save the [leader]_all Image that you have created or chosen. In this example, we are going to create the Civilization of Hungary, with the leader King Louis I.

Step 02-03: Review the [leader]_all at a Glance image for how the Leader Heads work.

Special thanks to the art and information created for TETurkhan's Play the World Scenario.

/***Step 03 - Adding Civilopedia Icons***/

Step 03-01: In the Art Folder, create a Civilopedia folder.

Step 03-02: In the Civilopedia Folder, create an Icons folder.

Step 03-03: In the Icons Folder, create a Races folder.

Step 03-04: In the Races Folder, save the Icon images that you have chosen or created.

The file name format does not matter, but make sure naming is at least consistent in this folder so you know which file is which.

/***Step 04 - Adding Leader Head Flics***/

Step 04-01: In the Art Folder, create a Flics folder.

Step 04-02: In the Flics Folder, save the Leader Head Flics you have created or chosen.

/***Step 05 - Adding leaderheads Images***/

Step 05-01: In the Art Folder, create a leaderheads folder.

Step 05-02: In the leaderheads Folder, save the leaderhead victory images you have made or chosen.

/***Step 06 - Add Civilization to Editor***/

Step 06-01: Open your .biq file.

Enable Custom Rules.

Step 06-02: Edit Civilizations...

Step 06-03: Change Diplomacy Text Index for Existing Civs

If using existing Civilizations, this will ensure that their AI Dialogue will not be changed. See image for more details.

Step 06-04: Create (or Replace an Existing) Civilization, Names, Label RACE_[name], Culture, and Index.

When modifying the the vanilla game, you must remove or replace one of the Civilizations. See image for full details.

Unless starting from scratch, I recommend replacing Civilizations to preserve Units Availability. See image for full details.

In this example, we will replace the Mongols with Hungary.

Step 06-05: Add Traits, Free Techs, Colors, and AI Behavior.

If your scenario will have Regicide as a playable game mode, you will need to create a King Unit. Otherwise, it can be left at None.

Step 06-06: Add City Names, Military Leaders, and Scientific Leaders.

Step 06-07a: Add Animations - Ancient

These are the animated heads you see in the diplomacy screen. Forward is smiling, and backward is frowning.

Step 06-07b: Add Animations - Middle

Note: If your leader heads remain the same in all eras (like in the Mesoamerica Conquest), you can use the same files as in Ancient.

Step 06-07c: Add Animations - Industrial

Step 06-07d: Add Animations - Modern

Step 06-08: Review Units Available for New Civ.

When a Civilization is added, all Units will automatically become available. Be sure to remove the availability of Unique/King Units for the New Civ.

Once finished, Save and Close the Editor.

/***Step 07 - Adding Text Files***/

Step 07-01:
Return to your Scenario Folder, and open the Text Folder. Copy and Paste the original files from the vanilla game:

Civilopedia.txt
diplomacy.txt (optional)
PediaIcons.txt

The path to the original file locations are highlighted in Blue.

Step 07-02: Open the Civilopedia.txt file in your scenario folder.

Locate the beginning of the Civilization Entries.

Step 07-03: Add your Civilization Entry to the Civilopedia.

See the image for full details on syntax, formatting, linking, and other information.

Save and close the Civilopedia.

Step 07-04: Open the PediaIcons in your scenario folder.

Locate the Leader Art.

Step 07-05: Add your RACE_[Civ] for the victory neutral and Advisor images.

At this time, I'm not sure where the vicotry neutral image appears.

The Advisor images appear on the Foreign Advisor page.

Note: If you are using icons from the vanilla game, PediaIcons is smart enough to look in the game's original files. You do not need to copy and paste over every icon from the game. This is true for all the following Icons.

Step 07-06: Locate the Happy Icons.

Step 07-07: Add HAPPY_RACE_[Civ] for the victory happy large image.

This appears when you win a Conquest, Domination, or Space Victory.

Step 07-08: Locate the Small Happy Icons.

Step 07-09: Add SHAPP_RACE_[Civ] for the victory happy small image.

This appears when the AI mocks your elimination or retirement.

Step 07-10: Locate the Large Kiss Icons.

Step 07-11: Add LKISS_RACE_[Civ] for the victory kiss large image.

This appears when you win a Culture or Diplomatic Victory.

Step 07-12: Locate the Small Kiss Icons.

Step 07-13: Add SKISS_RACE_[Civ] for the victory kiss small image.

This appears when the AI wins a Culture or Diplomatic Victory.

Step 07-14: Locate the Small Angry Icons.

Step 07-15: Add ANGRY_RACE_[Civ] for the victory angry small image.

This appears when the AI loses to Domination or Space.

Step 07-16: Locate the Small Loving Icons.

Step 07-17: Add ILOVE_RACE_[Civ] for the victory heart small image.

This appears when the AI loses to Culture.

Step 07-18: Locate the Small Loved Icons.

Step 07-19: Add LOVED_RACE_[Civ] for the victory victory heart tiny image.

This is the Culture Winner that appears in the losers' heart bubbles.

Step 07-20: Locate the Large Beaten-Up Icons.

Step 07-21: Add LHURT_RACE_[Civ] for the victory beatup large image.

This appears when you are eliminated or retire.

Step 07-22: Locate the Small Beaten-Up Icons.

Step 07-23: Add HURTN_RACE_[Civ] for the victory beatup small image.

This appears when the AI is eliminated.

Step 07-24: Locate the Civilization Icons.

Step 07-25: Add your ICON_RACE_[Civ] images.

The Large Icon must be first, and the Small Icon must be second.

Save and close the PediaIcons.

/***Step 08 - Diplomacy Editor...***/

Step 08-01: If you decide you want to edit the diplomacy.txt file, see the next tutorial:

How to Add a Civilization to Sid Meier's Civilization III Conquests Part 2: Editing Diplomacy

/***Final Views***/

When you open the game, the Civilization Selection will look like this!

The Small Civilopedia Icon will look like this!

The Large Civilopedia Icon and first page will be displayed here!

This is what the second page of the Civilopedia entry will look like!

The Advisor Head in the Foreign Advisor screen!

The New Civ is defeated!

Speaking with the New Civ!

The New Civ lost a Cultural Vicotry, and loves you!

You won a Cultural Victory, and they love you!

Could you show me an example, please?
Hi @Pelo McSoy

I have two old game mods whose link is no longer available, currently pointing to a link to a file repository(webside) that will be discontinued soon:
https://forums.civfanatics.com/resources/earth-globalism-mod.20562/
and
https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/earth-mod-7-0.455669/

I uploaded one of my mods to Google drive (I'd like to upload the other mod later) link to Earth globalism mod here:

I want the download to point to this google drive link.

I don't think it's possible to change the download link of an existing mod if you're not the original poster. What you can do, though, is create a new thread with your updated version of the mod.

Hi @SkipperXIV

These game mods were made by me a couple of years ago, so they are based on my own idea,
however, the current website to which the link points will be discontinued soon because there was a change of site owner. The additional download link is no longer available, I discovered this recently, so I want to assign a new link.
However, it is not as simple as I thought, because the interface of this forum does not allow me to give a new way to download.
I just want to make these threads available as I plan to reprocess them, to a version two.

If there is no other solution then the google drive link will be given in the description, I may ask the site operator to replace the link with the new available pages.

I would be interested in how I can assign the new link to this section? (I marked it with a number of 1):

When I enter the edit menu I see this:
Somehow I can't find it anywhere, there's a link here, but it applies to the text file (I marked it with a number of 2):

Ah, yeah I'm not sure how to help you there. I'm relatively new here, sorry.
