Hi Folks.

I`d like to know how I can add the units into a warlords game.

If I put the XML and Units files into the "Custom Assets" folder of the Warlords directory, I get a lot of error messages at game start (XML Check).

The way to add new units into the game must differ to CIV4 Vanilla.

Any suggestions ?

Does this look like the Tutorial forum?

Wow Baal Isidro, sorry about you getting the zulu "wrong forum" animation. Pretty cool though, isn't it?

I remember the first time I got one. I had written in here

"Uh, I just bought some blue-jeans and when I got them home I noticed a little pocket next to the main one over on the right, and I've not seen one of those before. I wouldn't mind except that its just the right size to hold one of those religious "chick tracts" and I am afraid that when I am standing in line at the ATM, some evangelical type person will slip a religious tract in there, and when my mom washes my jeans, she'll read it, get all saved or something, and we'll have to move. Should I take the jeans back?"

Yes, it was definitely in the wrong forum, but I learned my lesson.

To add a unit, there is more to it than simply changing the civ4unitinfos.xml file, usually, but not much more. Wander over to the "guides and tutorials" section and you'll find a number of very helpful tutorials on how to do this, what files are involved, and stuff like that.

I couldn't find one about adding a unit to warlords but i have managed to add all my units through trial and error

with warlords the unitinfo.xml has a few more tags like:

<UnitClassTargets/>
<UnitCombatTargets/>
<UnitClassDefenders/>
<UnitCombatDefenders/>

and

<iHillsAttack>0</iHillsAttack>
<LeaderPromotion>NONE</LeaderPromotion>
<iLeaderExperience>0</iLeaderExperience

just make sure you put the codes in the right place (look at the warlords units code) or just copy and paste a warlords unit and just change the name tag etc.... as for the other files like unitinfoclass.xml it is the same as the vanilla hope this helps :thumbsup:

That would work for newly downloaded units but its not for warlords, most people want to know how to add the units they added in the vanilla and as you can see the unitinfos.xml has a few more limes in so you can just copy and paste for the old modded unit:( but on the up side downloading new units is just the same ;)
