How to check DX version?

I have an Asus G73 which has an ATI mobility Radeon 5870 graphic card, but I'm not seeing great graphics from CiV? All setting are on high and anti aliasing is on 8x. Am I doing something wrong. Do I have DX10 or 11 how do I check? Thanks in advance.

What Windows are you running?
XP = DX9
Vista = DX10
7 = DX11

If you are on Vista, then try setting leader graphics to medium instead of high, that will maybe change something (yes, sounds crazy, but please do so).

I'm on Windows 7 and pretty much spent $2000 on this Asus G73 just for CiV. But I'm finding the graphics very underwhelming. Civ IV graphics seemed much crisper and thats was on my old Gateway desktop too. Leaders look phenomenal but terrain, resources, buildings, units, etc. are sub par.

I also had to uncheck in the options for Steam to automatically detect my windows version because initially it would not let me chose direct x10/11 version, it was recognizing my 64x Windows 7 as Vista for some odd reason.

mmhh...still, please try setting leader graphics to medium.

just did. Looks the same. Now I just forced anti-aliasing x8 in the ATI Catalyst Control Center. But now that I forced it do I shut off the anti-aliasing in game? Thanks for your help.

No, it should work, as far as i know.
