Long time lurker, but seldom poster. 
Anyway, I've noticed something that keeps popping up in some threads I've been reading and that is the fact that people are already tired of seeing the combat animations and can't find a way to disable them or think that there isn't an option. There is, but it's buried down a couple menus.
Single Player > Set Up Game > Advanced Setup > Advanced Game Options > Quick Combat.
Hope that helps some of you that are bored with the combat animations already.
