How to install mods in non-Steam Civ5?

Ive spend 7 hours trying to find a thread about my problem and I still cant find any. Im sorry if there is another thread like this because I cant find it.

Ive downloaded a mod from civfanatics. Ive extracted it but I cant find the Sid Meier's Civilization V/MODS. There is a lot of files but no MODS file.

i know nothing about this civ5. my friends installed for me. not from steam neither from DVD.

Moderator Action: The issue is that it sounds very much like a pirated version of the game. This site does not accept piracy and cannot help with pirated copies of any Civilization game.
