How to milk your score

I have a game around the year 2000 where everyone is dead except for me and 1 foreign city. I have kept that city alive to milk the score. Im getting exactly 4 points every turn. How could I get more? Would it help to switch governments? Which type of victory gets you the most bonus points? Any other point related tips?

I don't know if any victory conditions give you bonus points, but there are ways to increase your points if you are trying to 'milk' the score. Since the points are based on territory (primarily), happy people and content people, try to increase these. Territory is tricky, because you want as much territory as possible, without triggering a domination victory. Having your cities as happy (and as big) as possible will help.

My current game on Regent I'm up to 3800+ points in 1780 A.D, but I was going to win by culture very early. So I had to sell all my libraries, universities, and even my collesuems! I switched to communism, so my people will stay happy. Hopefully, Germany will catch up to my culture so it has at least half my culture, so I don't win when I hit 100,000 culture points.

the faster you end plays a very big part. Whilst the histograph says you're on about 50 points on chieftan if you end it with 50 points at 3000 BC then you'll get around 5000 points.

Not always, it depends on how many points you are gaining per turn and what year it is. There is a program in the utilities forum that you can use and here are the results from my current game on Regent:

This section can be used to project a final 2050AD score, assuming that your territory, population, and happiness remain the same from now until the end of the game. Enter your score from two consecutive turns. Enter the date of the second turn at the top of the page. The difficulty level only affects the early-win bonus info.
Previous turn score: Current score: Difficulty: ChieftainWarlordRegentMonarchEmperorDeity
Estimated score at 2050AD: 9123
Winning on the next turn (1838AD) would get a bonus of 636, for an estimated score of 5357
(Estimated current internal 'per-turn' score is 19961)

And I'm still expanding so this will grow even larger. From my testing considering my current score and the year, it would only be beneficial to win early is if I was making about 6 points per turn. But I am earning 40 points/turn right now.
