How to turn off tree animations?

If anyone has any ideas on how to do this it would be a huge help and a great mod for those of us with slightly slower systems. Thanks for the help.

Well, one way of doing it would be to edit assets\XML\terrain\CIV4FeatureInfos.xml. Changing EFFECT_BIRDSCATTER to NONE would remove that if that's what you mean. If it's not, the answer can probably be found in there somewhere. Just backup the file before you change anything. And there might be an easier solution, like checking the settings in the game.

Birdscatter is probably the animation where a group of birds take off when you enter a forest tile.
