Probably one of my most intricate Civ games to date. So good I might actually reload it and try again. Pangaea map, with a small side continent (I thought that was very cool myself.)
Super Brief Sypnopsis (an SBS, if you will)
Wang Kon was in ascendency, vassalising my neighbours India, who blocked the rest of the continent from me. I colonised lower continent with Charlemagne - vassalised by Darius soon after. Friends with America - far side of world. Hurt Wang Kon very badly, his vassals broke free. Took India and annihilated them.
Scenario I need advice with:
Darius and Washington are more powerful than me. It's mid modern. I'm weak on culture but high on production. I run Police State and Communism. Darius out armies me comfortably however, and if I were to attack him, his vassal Charlemagne would comfortably oust me from my smallholding on the continent. With no chance of Culture or outmuscling, i think space race. But washington and Darius are both even with me on that regard- yet have Vassals wheras I dont.
my first solution:
defensive pact with Darius. Lucky break with random event which forced wang kon to declare war on me, igniting a series of pacts. Darius/Me/Charle versus Saladin/Gilga/Wang Kon.
Solution:
I nuked Washington and Darius in their entirety. I had 13 ICBMs and destroyed all their major cities. This plunged the world into an effective total war. It went badly as Charlmagne obliterated my far-too-useful smallholding on the side continent. When the dust settled - our scores had all plummeted, but I was no closer to any victory, I merely made everyone else suffer as well.
Should I have just nuked Washington?
Regards
Seb Fisher
PS: never tried such a warring game before!
