Hi everyone,

For people who are playing CIV 1 and trying to beat it on the top difficulty (emperor), I created a video series showing how to do it on a standard map:

If you have specific questions about issues you are having, or particular elements of the game that you are struggling with, feel free to post them here and I'll come back to check them out and answer as quickly as possible.

Hmm... Skimmed through it and no questions, but some tips and suggestions:
-Buy barracks and temple and then switch to chariot (in the cities that have no barracks and/or temple), it is cheaper than just buying the chariot.
-No need to slam chariots against city walls. For the shields it takes to build 6 chariot units you can get 8 diplomats and demolish the walls with sabotage.
-You CAN get the AI to give you its technology, but not by demanding tribute. If you reject the peace treaty and they're weaker, they'll sometimes give you all of their cash and science. Sometimes they will haggle, offering you just money or a single advance. If you reject again, they may up the offer or declare war, etc. So, you could've gotten all of the Indians' tech and money right after Bombay fell. Demand tribute works only for cash and if they have less than 50 they can't come up with anything and just refuse.

Nice one, thanks, I didn't think about this.

But you need writing for it, and sneak in with the diplomats which isn't always easy, especially against your first neighbor. Anyway, I see how this could work with the 2nd conquered CIV, thanks.

Ah, interesting, I wasn't familiar with this mechanic, seems useful to speed up a scientific victory.
