Huge Europe map flawed? Your thoughts...

I played a game on the huge Europe map that came with BTS. A good map, but I started on the Iberian peninsula. Where are the food resources?!!? I struggled to keep up all game due to lack of space for cottages and not enough food for specialists. No corn (okay fine), no rice (? spanish rice? no?), cows, sheep, wheat, no fish, crabs, OR clams on the coast, NOTHIN! only 1 pig in the center. Not only that, but there was only 2 gold and 1 other lux resource (i forget which) on the whole peninsula (which is pretty big. Large enough for most of an empire (non-conquered). Is this a little ridiculous? When my scout wandered way out west where Persia was at (in my game) They had tons of food, strategic, AND luxury resources. No wonder they surged past me! What do you guys think? Have you played the map?

i vastly prefer the "European Empires" map. real start locations, excellent balance, and tons of civs.

actually, that isnt the file i meant, but it was made by the same dude, i think.

While Spain does have rice, it isn't indigenous.... it was brought by the Moors.... but why there's no wheat or corn there.... no fish too?

I have to confess, I costomised the Europe map with WB, put everyone in their starting positions etc, and gave everyone 3 food resources at the capital. Otherwise its pointless, some Civs wont get past 50 turns
