I tend towards the doctrine of Conditional Immortality rather than Eternal Damnation these days, but I think the bible is pretty clear that hypocrites will face far harsher treatment. Those who sinned out of ignorance will be punished with few stripes, while those who know better, taught better, but did not act better will be punished with many stripes.
It also says that God would rather we be either hot or cold towards him, and that those who are tepid will be spewed out. God prefers those who utterly reject him over than those that just go with the flow and pretend to believe.
Hypocritical Christians are more likely to be poked than athiests. If there is a God, he will look far more kindly on those who were honest in what they stood for rather than hypocrats.
There is Limbo for virtuous non-believers. From what I've read, it doesn't sound that bad really.
And people who are hypocrites tend not to really believe in whatever, and simply act the part. Poorly. But I'm not entirely sure there is a sin for douchery either, so if they genuinely believe in god, but fail everything else (but not spectacularly), there's purgatory.
