Deep inside...
Folks,

in fact, dogfighting is actually included, indirectly though. It is just that the numbers seem to be wrong. Look at this:

1. Fighters have attack/defense values
2. It is obvious that those values can only be used for the feature called Interception
3. But...(HUGE BUT)...
4. If the Defense value of fighters is next to its atack value, then we can simulate dogfighting.

Here is what i did:

1. I changed all defense values of fighters (including F15) to D=A-1
2. I chose to mantain a difference of 1 to simulate some little advantage in favor of the "sky owner" (that would be the Interceptor), meaning operating over his own bases, and so on.

And:

IT WORKED! SOmetimes i win those skybattles, sometimes they win. In fact, that is the way it works in real life, i think... air superiority is just which side remains after blasting away all enemy fighters, isn't it?

I know we have to test it more. But it worked very well for me. Try it and share the results, please!

Happy dogfighting!!!

Just to add something:

i use bombing missions to send my fighters to wipe those enemy jets. But now i am thinking: may be it works well using recon missions too.

Have to try.

Addendum:

It seems that recon mission does not trigger interceptions. Therefore, you can't use recon as a dogfighting trigger. We have to use bombardment missions. Makes sense though, because modern fighters are actually fighter-bombers. This also supports the decision of making D=A-1 for all fighters in the game, simulating things like "local supremacy" (sky owner) and/or payload to be delivered.

Someone tested it yet?

I, for one, appreciate your efforts/thoughts, and hope someone tries it out or you have the opportunity yourself. Sorry that no one has responded thus far.

Haven't played in a bit :(
