... waiting untill Civ7 Complete Edition is free soon! Just like they are giving away Civ VI for years now. I regret paying full price.

I will never regret I paid full price for Civ VI. By far the game I've spent most hours on. Same goes with Civ V and IV, to some extend. Civ VII has been the only Civ game I haven't bought at launch (and still haven't bought). I'm still getting alot of fun out of Civ VI and since Civ VII doesn't seem to be appealing to me at all, I doubt I will ever play Civ VII really. I'm too locked in on Civ VI mechanics , like districts, which I have come to love. I don't feel like Civ VII is offering new mechanics that is outweighing the ones they took away from Civ VI. As you, I will probably buy Civ VII at some point where the complete edition is around €25 or so. I just checked, and I must admit I exhaled some air out of my nose in disgust, seeing the Settler's Edition is €119 right now. It doesn't even contain a prober DLC, only a few leaders and civs, plus some wonders.
Of course, things may be reconsidered if they release new interesting stuff for Civ VII.

If I remember correctly, the first giveaway of Civ6 complete happened in Epic Games last summer. I wouldn't expect Civ7 giveaway before Civ8 will be launched, so if you're willing to wait for 8-10 years, I envy your planning.
Civ6 base game was given for free on Epic way earlier, some time after the second expansion pack

I would imagine it would be Available in 4-6 years (2 expansions and all DLC out)… but agreed it probably won’t be free for twice that.

Whilst I agree that Civ VII won't be "free" for quite a while, I could see it coming to Game Pass in the second half of the year.

I should correct myself a bit. I am waiting untill Complete Edition will be worth pennies.

Civ VI was bundled a few times for pennies before it was fully given away a few times for free. Long before Civ VII came out. First vanilla game to make you buy exapansions full game price. Then, they bundled expansions, too.

But look how much they want for a Civ VII DLC now. It's much worse than 10 years ago, not to mention 20 years ago. It is ridiculous. 2K is ridiculous.

Yeah I got founder's edition and I'm fine with it. Civ is the only game I bought last year and the dollars to hours of entertainment math works out great for me.
If you play one or two games, and you stick to it, I totally understand. I buy many games per year, actually. RPGs, FPS, not only strategy games.

But it is not my point. I paid the full price, then they bundled this for little pennies.I am more satisfied with previous civ games than paying so much for Civ VII.

Actually, more satisfied than "new stuff". I will wait... to check it out.

I can’t remember which game I purchased at full price and then it went on sale not too long after release, but I remember I was quite irritated. After a day or so of being angry about it, I asked myself why I bought the game at the original price. I thought, because I wanted to play the game and I could afford it. What struck me was how much I only cared in principle, but the price was not a problem until it went on sale. The game released unfinished and in need of more than polishing. The person who buys it at the sale price will have the same disappointment as many did. What Im getting at is this, I realized it was the principle not the money and that everyone who buys at their price will be just as underwhelmed as everyone else. I could afford it without concern at full price and what deal someone else gets isn’t my business. Basically, if you could afford full price be grateful you could because so many can’t. This doesn’t mean your point is invalid, I am just suggesting a way to reframe it. If this was a big splurge purchase, then I am sorry they did something like that.

Not "complete".

The 2025 giveaway was of Civ6 Platinum, which includes the base game, the 6 "first year" DLCs, and two expansions - in other words, content up until Gathering Storm.

It doesn't include the content from New Frontier Pass or Leader Pass. In principle, it's encouraging users to buy the "Anthology Upgrade" to get them, though the Epic store UI is unhelpful enough that it really doesn't tell users how that works.

BTW, if anyone needs, there is currently a new Civ humble bundle. You can get a full package for pennies once more time.

I bought the Collector's Edition in 2016 and I was extremely disappointed with the content (I felt scammed). I managed to sell this fragile box for 40$. Then, I bought expansions and DLCs. It seems it wasn't worth it as they put it in bundles or sales very quickly. That's the point.

I understood your point. The point I made is, you bought it at a price you thought was reasonable at the time or you wouldn’t have bought it. If it went on sale soon after is irrelevant. Be grateful you could buy it when you did. Don’t sweat the opportunity lost, it actually didn’t effect you. You didn’t lose money.
