Civ6 base game was given for free on Epic way earlier, some time after the second expansion packIf I remember correctly, the first giveaway of Civ6 complete happened in Epic Games last summer. I wouldn't expect Civ7 giveaway before Civ8 will be launched, so if you're willing to wait for 8-10 years, I envy your planning.
I would imagine it would be Available in 4-6 years (2 expansions and all DLC out)… but agreed it probably won’t be free for twice that.If I remember correctly, the first giveaway of Civ6 complete happened in Epic Games last summer. Base version, yes, in 2020, but the post was about Complete Edition, which was first released for free in 2025.Civ6 base game was given for free on Epic way earlier, some time after the second expansion pack
Yeah I got founder's edition and I'm fine with it. Civ is the only game I bought last year and the dollars to hours of entertainment math works out great for me.Bought Civ 7 at launch with no regrets. For me, better than Civ 6, which was basically a sandbox game.
If you play one or two games, and you stick to it, I totally understand. I buy many games per year, actually. RPGs, FPS, not only strategy games.Yeah I got founder's edition and I'm fine with it. I can’t remember which game I purchased at full price and then it went on sale not too long after release, but I remember I was quite irritated. After a day or so of being angry about it, I asked myself why I bought the game at the original price. I thought, because I wanted to play the game and I could afford it. What struck me was how much I only cared in principle, but the price was not a problem until it went on sale. The game released unfinished and in need of more than polishing. The person who buys it at the sale price will have the same disappointment as many did. What Im getting at is this, I realized it was the principle not the money and that everyone who buys at their price will be just as underwhelmed as everyone else. I could afford it without concern at full price and what deal someone else gets isn’t my business. Basically, if you could afford full price be grateful you could because so many can’t. This doesn’t mean your point is invalid, I am just suggesting a way to reframe it. If this was a big splurge purchase, then I am sorry they did something like that.If you play one or two games, and you stick to it, I totally understand. I buy many games per year, actually. But it is not my point. I paid the full price, then they bundled this for little pennies.I am more satisfied with previous civ games than paying so much for Civ VII.
Actually, more satisfied than "new stuff". I will wait... to check it out.
Not "complete".giveaway of Civ6 complete happened in Epic Games last summer.

I understood your point. The point I made is, you bought it at a price you thought was reasonable at the time or you wouldn’t have bought it. If it went on sale soon after is irrelevant. Be grateful you could buy it when you did. Don’t sweat the opportunity lost, it actually didn’t effect you. You didn’t lose money.BTW, if anyone needs, there is currently a new Civ humble bundle. You can get a full package for pennies once more time.
I bought the Collector's Edition in 2016 and I was extremely disappointed with the content (I felt scammed). I managed to sell this fragile box for 40$. Then, I bought expansions and DLCs. It seems it wasn't worth it as they put it in bundles or sales very quickly. That's the point.
