• 📚 Admin Project Update: Added a new feature to PictureBooks.io called Story Worlds. It lets your child become the hero of beloved classic tales! Choose from worlds like Alice in Wonderland, Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan, The Jungle Book, Treasure Island, Arabian Nights, or Robin Hood. Give it a try and let me know what you think!

Hey everyone! :wavey:

I want to share something I've been working on that's completely different from Civ or gaming.
It's called PictureBooks.io and is a tool for creating personalized children's storybooks.

What it does:
  • Generate fully illustrated children's stories in minutes using AI
  • Has a large collection of free books in the Community Library
  • Can regenerate image for any page easily
  • Can edit story title and text after story generation
  • Premium AI voice narration to read stories aloud
  • Story translation
  • Export stories as short-form videos (ex. YouTube Shorts/TikTok-style reels)
  • Download as PDF
  • Print stories
  • Prompt Review & Edit before actual image generation
  • Prompt Inspector to review prompts used to generate every page

Why I built it:

I have a 2 year old boy and have been using AI a lot to create new books to read together. This tool gives complete control on every part of the book creation process.

It's free to try:

You can create stories for free.
If any of you have young kids or grandkids, give it a shot and let me know what you think!
(And if you find it useful, subscribe and be my first customers!)

:thanx:

PS: Also, since I know this community is great at finding exploits and bugs - if you break the UI or find something weird, please let me know! I'm still polishing the code.

Hey TF, I’ll try it when I get home in a couple of days! Can I add my own text and have it create related pictures?

Yeah, you can enter your prompt for the story.
After the book is created, you can also edit the title and any story text easily. Can also regenerate a specific image in the book as well.

Rebranded the site as PictureBooks.io instead, since toddlerbooks.ai unnecessarily make the target audience of the books smaller.

As part of the re-branding, I have added 2 new art styles: Comic Book and Claymation.

Interesting concept. Though I'd probably just use an AI prompt as a tool to refine my writing and research. Along with catching any spelling and grammar (at least in a dialogue setting in a comic) mistakes.
Number One speaks!

This is interesting. I plan to try the free version and provide feedback, thanks and good luck :)

I tried it and it generated two stories. I liked it, but I am unsure if the images can be made to be a little less joyful (granted, this was made specifically for children's books, but still ^^)
All in all, it looks nice and I am sure that parents can use it for that purpose.

As a big fan of using AI for any practical and creative purpouse:
I don't think I'll ever use it but it's cool.

However I'd warn against teaching children to put out electrical fire with water

This would be "advertising" no?
I hade the same first thought but I guess an Admin can bend the rules :)

I like the superhero team's special ability of slightly changing their costumes and hairstyles from moment to moment, presumably to confuse the enemy.

...and the children reading it 😂

Thanks! You are the first real user to create a new book other than me! 👍 in one of your book about the door, you could use the Regenerate Image feature to fix an image that has issue.

Regarding the advertising comments. I can only do that because it’s my site. 😀

It’s painful to get users to try though, especially at the beginning. Now I understand the pain of indie game developers.

Eventually I think I will need to do some paid ad campaigns on Facebook or X…

I greatly appreciate any support or feedback, even if the feedback is negative.
