I Built an AI Children's Book Generator (PictureBooks.io) - Looking for feedback!

Watching TF in this thread
The hostility from couple posters is certainly unexpected.

Again, I am not trying to change their anti-AI stance. They can believe whatever they want.
There are lots of people out there who happened to be pro-AI and we should be able to do that.

Did some Print to Order integration testing with Lulu today so users could get physical copy of their personalized books easily.

Here is a preview from the testing:

Having somewhat kept up with the AI thread and seeing reactions by artist-type people and others here and elsewhere ( like the reaction i got on discord posting Slimkuns vids,)
I'm actually surprised this thread has stayed as civil as it has.......

So I tried to use all my credits on one story about the Prophet Muhammad killing Trump but it made some story about a compass or something so can I get a refresh to try again since that wasn't even close?

When we send the request to generate the story, it specifies that the story should be suitable for children. Also, when sending the image generation request, Nano Banana also safety check and will refuse to generate certain images, in such case you would get blank image for the page.

Added a Dashboard page today.
This is what the user sees upon login to the site.
Previously it was taking the user to the My Library section.

And who are you to decide what is suitable for children?

Every parent, every children's book author/illustrator, school, etc. make decisions everyday about what is suitable for children. Some make better decisions than others. I would say that better, nicer, smarter people tend to make better decisions regarding children..

This is a space of decency, were all grown ups, it is to be expected.

I know communities aplenty where this would have gone far, far worse.

Yet the biggest organisms in protection of children are used by the biggest bidders as a tool for censorship, though usually succesful in protecting children, it is a shame it can serve and will continue to serve as a tool for despotism.

Nobody is against protecting children, M'aiqs disturbance probably comes from the precedent you all have set in the practices you have displayed, his concern is but understandable...
And who are you to decide what is suitable for children?
"Admins are so serious about AI. So many enforced AI ads. M'aiq thinks they wish they had glorious integrity like khajiit." hehe, this one is a big fan of yours:wavey:

There are standards, sadly they are easily malleable and have been proven countless time to be so. Wouldn't be surprised if the same story were to repeat here.

That said... folks let's just ignore this, it's not worth the time invested in writing a response when the people in charge have proven they're not gonna give a damn about what we think.

Leave it be, to be forgotten in the years to come. Once progress is made AI will be a dignified tool to have at hand, until then it shall stay as the stock of laughs like here, and deservedly so.

The site has good communities around it, this is not worth bashing each other over. Peace fellas:queen:

But isn't the whole point of this site that the parent IS the children's book author/illustrator? The question wasn't "How can anyone decide what is suitable for children", but "Who are YOU to decide"?

I'm not saying the question doesn't have an answer, but your answer isn't it.

Who is the "YOU" in your post?

Nothing in TF’s post, to which Maiq was responding, says that he, TF, makes any such decision. TF’s site specifies that only content suitable for children should be uploaded, but there’s no indication that TF or the site decides what’s suitable for children - the implication is that that is down to the user. He also said that Nano Banana will refuse to act on certain prompts, but that’s not under his control. If Maiq’s request was denied by the site then presumably it was because of the Nano Banana safeguards, not anything that TF has set up.

That is becuase i love local models. I will make a children book generator specialised in barbarian seminaked warrior princesses and stuff. :p
