I can't install my civ2 cd

I just got a new computer with windows 7 and when I put in my civ2 cd to install it, a window pops up telling me that the game is not compatable with my windows version. I've heard people talk about patches and stuff, but I am technologically inept and don't know what the hell they are talking about. can anyone help me get this game on windows 7?

If you still have your old computer with Civ2 on it, too, the first thing you should try is simply copying over the Civ2 folder to your new computer. That will work fine, unless you have a 64-bit Windows 7...

I do not have a computer with civ 2, and it is a 64 bit windows 7, am I totally screwed, or is there any hope?
