I don't have a problem with the GDR but could..

its going to take more than a name change to fix that joke

The offense at the name in the community is more humorous than the initial joke. Well played, Firaxis.

Cheapening an IP is baaaaad mojo.

hell, I would prefer Bipedal Mobile Armour, or BMA. Something realistic at least.

if they wanted to have a sense of humor they could try something like Bipedal Assault Mech, or BAM. So whenever you use one against someone to crush them end game you get the glory of saying BAM! .... or something.

I don't know... I'll probably try to find a way to change the name on wednesday

Right off the bat I will be changing the name and all references to it in the Civilopedia.

Big Engine Navigation Device Electric Robot, or B.E.N.D.E.R.

Honhestly, why whine about the name, it was created the by Civ Fanatics community, if anything you should be celebrating

General Defense Robot.

No. It's a robot, that's a given. Also, it's giant, as opposed to all the other units which are regular sized. And it causes death, as opposed to all the other units which uhh umm erm.

I honestly can't believe all the whining... Just get over it! It's one little, over-the-top joke.

People seem to have a problem with this and some of the language or jokes in the manual.

You know, because Civ players are so "adult" and so "mature" and so over the rest of the populace. Only when the game is filled with cryptic Kant references will they amuse themselves with a slight nod and an ironic remark.

I am wundering if somene was playing Call to Power 2 too much and got the idea from there. Poorly implemented? Yes. But at least Civ V is doing something different. I never liked how they never went futher with the techs. At least now they did.
