Just been playing the zwk, first time i've tried playing a addin. Really enjoy the game as one player, but annoyed 'cos minor allies have decleared war on me (playing as allies)! I intresting in taking part in the PBEM game. So could anyone give me any pointers, or start a game?

If you want a small taste of playing a PBEM game, you can take my spot as the Independent nation in this game of ZWK. I'm kinda filling in for a player who had to drop out.

They don't have much to start with, if you make deals with other players, you can be a force to recon with.

Otherwise, others may post here that are interested in playing with you in yet another (we have 4 of them going right now :)) PBEM game of ZWK.

If there´s a vacancy i´ll take the allies

Well, this would be the fourth of the ZWK games I'm juggling simultaneously, but it's interesting because I get to do 4 different civ's, and that gives me knowledge so that one game can help another.

I'll do the Soviets this time, if it's okay. It was really fun on single player.

I fancy giving minor axis a go. As I'm new to this could someone take charge of the organising of the game, and getting it started, thx.

I suppose I can do that; I'm really getting good at these PBEM's now. First off, the order:

Axis: Pap1723
Independents: A.I./open
Neutrals: A.I.
Allies: academia
Minor Axis: Tonyuk_58
Soviets: Darius
Minor Allies: A.I./open

Some final confirmations would be nice, but not necessary.

Pap should go as soon as he's ready, and academia next unless we want to wait and see if anyone else wants to come in as the Minor Allies or Independents.

Also, anyone can PM me if they need any strategy tips; I've played every civ here except the two neutral ones and the Minor Allies.

I'll give the Minor Allies a go.

I'm playing my first single player zwk game right now as the Axis (They're speaking German at the Houses of Parliament), and have never played a PBEM (or any multiplayer game) of any kind. Hopefully I've read enough of these threads to put up a decent fight. ;)

Consider this fair warning: I can only play late evenings (US Eastern time), and I can't necessarily play every night, although I will do everything I can to keep things moving when my turn approaches.

If that isn't going to be often enough, then let me know and I will drop out.

Don't worry, that's about the normal rate.

Axis: Pap1723
Independents: A.I./open
Neutrals: A.I.
Allies: academia
Minor Axis: Tonyuk_58
Soviets: Darius
Minor Allies: TimTheEnchanter

Waiting on Pap and it's a go.

Might wanna read this for more detail than PBEM threads:

Thanks. :goodjob:

Academia - Since we're apparently in this together, can you turn on Private Messaging? That way we can discuss some strategies to teach those krauts a lesson or two (Or at least slow down their advance so they don't rip through ALL OF FRANCE IN 7 TURNS  like willemvanoranje did on one of the other threads!!!).

Yeah, academia. WWII games require a whole lot of scheming and backstabbing behind the scenes, so you need PM's or at least notifying us of your E-mail address, for your sake as much as ours.

Oh, man I had plans for Turkey. Damn.

Axis: Pap1723
Independents: Willemvanoranje
Neutrals: A.I.
Allies: academia
Minor Axis: Tonyuk_58
Soviets: Darius
Minor Allies: TimTheEnchanter

While I wait for my top-notch French Engineers to hook up the string and tin-cans between Paris and London, can someone clarify a couple of the “HOUSE RULES” from the HTML readme page (Kobayashi's text in bold)

The Allies cannot declare war on anyone except the Minor Axis and Soviets (they will be perpetually at war with the Axis). If the other power declares war, then the restriction for that power is lifted.
This doesn’t apply to the Minor Allies does it? …not that I’m planning anything ;) but I just want to know before we get going.

Bombers (does not apply to ground attack aircraft) cannot land on carriers. Carriers also should not carry torpedoes. By the same token, V1/Fritz-X cannot be carried by U-boats. But they can be launched from carriers.

Torpedoes should not be used on land. They cannot attack land targets anyway. You can move them from a sub onto land but you will need a commando batallion to move them back into the sub. DO NOT fire torpedoes from a city unless you have a U-boat within.

There is a stupid bug in the game engine which allows you to take any advance the AI player has after the AI has agreed to trade a specific advance with you. Do not choose any advance other than the one offered - this is considered CHEATING and besides it will spoil the game.

But if an agreement has been reached between human players, we can take advantage of this “bug” to exchange the agreed-upon techs, right?

Do not rename any cities as some of them are required for events to occur.
Does anyone know…if I can get Lazyciv to work (big "if"), do the events still work? Or will it cause the events to fail because it has renamed the cities?

Also, no negotiation with a Human player's AI unless it has been agreed upon beforehand, right?

Tim:
Don´t worry about it. United Kingdom´s magnificent leader Winston Churchill will help France. Together, we will destroy the german scum!!!
Yes, i know that we´ll have to coordinate our estrategies. We can
include the soviets too. I don´t know, what do you think comrade Stalin?

In relation to the private messages, i have msn messenger and icq. Which one would you like to use?

I don't know about clarifying Koby's rules, let's just have a consensus for this game's rules on our own.

If the other power declares war, then the restriction for that power is lifted.

- Yes, this applies to the minor allies. You can attack them, but they can't attack you unless you've started the war.

- You can use the bug if you both agree, with the exception of wonder-expiring techs (Caucasus Lost, Suez Canal Lost, Oil Fields Lost, and I might be forgetting one).

- Lazyciv doesn't cause a problem, at least as far as I know since sas used it in ZWK 3 and the events worked fine.

- Of course, no AI negotiation except for with the Neutrals, who are AI.

That's about it, now come on, pap.

Some finer points on Koby's rules (As I understand them):

He considers the Allies and Minor Allies as one when referrign to the 'Allies'. Same for the Axis.

His rules are written with the game intended to be played by only 5 players.

So, if someone is playing the Independents, then I would think the rule about declaring war is on them by the Allies would not be valid. Otherwise, the Allies would have to sit there and wait for them to attack first to be able to do anything about it.

But, you guys can agree on whatever arrangements you want for this game. :)

Plus, I don't think sas has gotten LazyCiv2 to work yet. His production orders are still being changed by the AI.

Oh, nevermind then. I really think he should use it though, I know I'm willing to wait.

I saw that. I'm hoping it's because he's using a tricked-out TOT version instead of MGE. I figured I would practice a couple turns with it on my own to see if I could get it going, and to get used to working with the MP games. I figure it's worth trying, since I think it's safe to assume I will be losing a city every now and then.
