Always loved the 'conquer by being awesome' in the earlier civ games (was it 3 or 4?) so when the Eleanors came out I've been playing a few peaceful (deity) domination games with them. Sometimes I like to go fast, but sometimes I wanna grow tall and wide! (I know... many of you think I'm crazy...
) I got a 7K+ score a while ago and when the Lakes map came out, thought to myself: "nice challenge: get to a 10K score with the max nr of civs and city states on a huge lakes map!".
Had a lot of relaxing gametime 'simcitying' on civ VI and finally managed to hit the 10K mark:
Off course, by the time I got here turns and the time between them got quite (e.g. extremely) long. So I'd be checking out these forums and reddit in the mean-time. But not a turn or two later than hitting the 10K mark I hit the wall: CTD. Tried again, wouldn't load, CTD again. Tried altering all kind of settings, tried at least a dozens times. It actually loaded a few times again and I could play one or two turns, and then CTD again.
Maybe some of you other fanatics appreciate the sight of a 10K+ empire. Here it is:
Culture victory is turned off, would have won that many turns ago if it wasn't, all others are on. The only real threat is the AI winning SV. Two of them were well underway (Mali and Australia), but I practically stopped them by focusing my 'love' towards them and loyalty-pressuring them into joining my empire.
I was aiming to turn this into a domination victory. Was well underway, and could have reached a 15K+ perhaps, but the CTD stops me from hurting my laptop even further. If anyone has any tips on how to ease the pain of this huge empire on my computer and maybe continue just ... one more turn... much appreciated.
