I know what you mean
I downloaded the April May GOTMs got to Invention in April and stopped playing (so late, and I was being killed and I had bought AOE2 and was eagerly waiting to open it
In May I played AOE2
I downloaded July's on August 1st and run out of time
I have a game from 1999 that I started, I control the world have about 60 future tech, and 140 cities and 5500 points (not counting space ship and all the happy people I'll get from maxing out the luxuries, and I have about 80 engineers )
I have about 7 years till the ship lands on alpha centauri (this was my first try at a super high score) every month I open and play (for 2 minutes) it's just not worth it anymore
I have several scenarios that I just stopped WW2, civil war, a few others
Not to mention other games that I started after I jumped to Prince/King
I haven't finished a game since July of 1999, I mean i've killed off my single opponent left in some of my highest scoring games just to see what they call me (forkbeard, etc.) but not REALLY finishing it
I think what we all have is an intense case of Civ2 apathy because we just want to sink our teeth in the fresh meat
It's hard to bite deeply on 5 year old food (admittedly it's still the best stuff in town) when you know that fresh stuff is coming in just a half dozen weeks.
