I may announce a scenario in the thread but first i need help.

What is "Error -6 module 3 data: 14 0"

Popped out afther i eddited the units

Alright...this is fixed.But now i have other problem.

Units do not appear on the map...it says that the square has a unit but no unit can be seen.You can only see the unit health and the colour of the nation.The .bmp file is on place where the hell am i wrong at now

What program do you use to edit unit graphics? What is your operating system? What version of Civ 2 are you modifying?
If possible post your units.bmp file so me or somebody else might take a look, or even try to run it in our own games and see if it works.
I've had a fair share of modding with this game recently, as I'm in the middle of making a total conversion
and I have already run into possibly all problems that might ever occur when modding Civ 2.
 
Oh...gee,forgot about all of the system crap :D

Usin' MS Paint & notepad for all of the units modifucation.

I have some ideas that can make the scenario up and going,but now i dont have time to work with it.Maybe few hours later.
So someone check the thread later
 
Hmmm ToT is not really my league, I'm an MGE and classic player, but one thing I can tell you: as simple and sufficient as ms paint might be, I've had problems with it ever since win xp sp3. It didn't decode the colors right and I had serious problems with the game, getting similar errors to yours. The color palette which I believe is 256 isn't something that windows likes and has real issues saving it in the same form to .bmp file. I suggest to use GIMP only on a new .bmp file. Of course you can still copy the rectangles with modified units or anything else from the file that crashes the game, but scrap the file itself since it probably won't work anymore after you saved it in paint.
I'm working with GIMP right now and it's a wonderful program, free and fairly simple as well as intuitive. Works really well with civ .bmp and .gif files, although I had some problems with grey background. Fixed it by replacing with the pink that can be seen everywhere in units or terrain files. GIMP is much more advanced compared to paint but the layout and functions are simple enough that I learned how to use it in one hour.

I gave up trying to view that file; it was taking forever to download. Please don't use BMPs for screenshots. Try saving it as a JPG instead. BMP is an uncompressed file format and is not web-friendly. Paint has a crop tool, if you wish to remove the task bar from the image - I saw almost that much.

This is a sprite issue, not a palette or GIF version problem. With the exception of title.gif and the GIFs embedded in various DLL files, ToT typically uses 16- or 24-bit bitmaps.

Do you have any sprite (SPR) files in your scenario folder? I'll wager that you're using the static.spr file from the ToT conversion of the Spanish Civil War scenario (I can see it in the task bar). That file is only suitable for that scenario. In fact it only contains 4 units, which would explain why you may have a bunch of blank units. Remove the file from your scenario directory and follow these instructions. If you actually plan to include sprites, then I'd suggest you read this article.
 
Alllright...just what I had expected.More problems.Now i think i know from where the problem is but i have some trouble finding the lines which i gotta edit

Lets say that "Extra Advace 1" should allow you to build a tank (just an example).The civ. that is supposed to have it (and has it) CAN NOT build it.But it can be built with any other nation if they recieve the technology.I guess that is something with the leader restrictions or something like that.The problem is that i cant find the lane I need to edit.

If I manage to fix that part I think there will be no more problems and the scenario will be announced officially.

Allright...finaly found some time to work a little bit on the scenario....and i tried the advices at the website you posted.But i dont see anything unusual there.

P.S.:Hmmm very unususal....the units appeared....whatever the important thing is that everything is OK now.Hope I will get this thing done till Cristmas
 
So....the last thing to edit,before finaly revealing the plot,went wrong.It is about the new units I have added.I added new units in the rules succesfully without errors.But when I am in game,the unit does not appears in the civilopedia....i cant be seen in the production...and when i spawn it via cheat mode it shows some of the standard ToT units.The lanes which i have edit were the "Extra unit" ones.Is there anything I dont know about it.

The second problem still looks like a sprite issue. Double check that you've followed the instructions in post 7.

I'd direct you to an article on the Scenario League site about units and obsolescence, but the site is down at the moment.
The SL site has been down for over 2 weeks, so I'll attach the offline version of the article.

BTW, is English your first language?

Yes....just as usual.I got a problem,someone post a decision.I dont pay attention to it until i finish my ideas of fixing,and what happens-I fix the problem without help.But if someone does not post something use(less)full I wont find a way to fix it.

Alright...now the scenario is officially in a beta period.
There will be a (lot) testing before i complete it on 100%.I will reveal the plot later because I dont have much time now.I will just say that it is modern day scenario but it is not an WWII one.

And Catfish,thank you not only for the help provided...but also for the units you made (I hope there is no problem to use some of em')

When faced with, erm, rough English, I generally show more patience if I know it's a non-native speaker, unless the poster is also a nutter - and I've run across a few of those.

No problem, but if you're talking about the modern units on my website, they're sorely out-of-date. Most are 24-bit colour skins of Fairline's old units, back before anyone was making Hicolor mechanised units for ToT (c.2003). You really should check out Fairline's more recent work. It leaves those old icons for dead. Currently, most of his units are inaccessible because both the Scenario League site and all its forum attachments are down. I'll attach them here.

This is because my scenario is set in 1947.Afther the WWII,but not the WWII we know but a different one.Here is the storyline of the 7 civ's in the scenario:USSR,Libertadores,Germany,Islamic Union,APR,US(N)A and New Britain

USSR:The good old comunist state you know.There arent very dramatical changes for them.In the First World War they lose Poland and Moldova to the Germans,next
in 1938 the Soviet-Japanese minor border wars escalate in to a massive conflict in East Asia.The Soviets are having trouble holding the Japanese which annexed ALL OF China earlier that year.Few months later New Britain enters the war on Soviet side,followed by US(N)A.Afther that Japan is crushed only for an year.The Japanese islands and Korea are US(N)A territory.North and middle china are Soviet and the southern parts belong to New Britain.

Libertadores:The second comunist state.Formed after a lot of minor wars in South America,the continents countries unite forming a massive and powerfull state.

Germany:Here is the bigest spin-off.In the scenario Germany wins the First World War...wins it decisively.They conquer all of France,Italy and ... Great Britain.Later the Balkans and Scandinavia join the political union that Germany has created.This means that there are no nazis in this scenario.Why ? Because one of Hitler's main motives is that he must has revenge for the things done by France and England in WWI.Without the defeat in 1918,hitler is not a dictator,he is not a fiscist,he is an OK chap working in a post house in Munich.
In 1936 when the Spanish civil war began the republicans were recieving massive amount of money,gear and volunteers.Till the fascits...recieved nothing and they were crushed for no time.Afther that and Spain,along with Potugal,join the union.And now Germany rules "A different (and Democratic) European Union".

Islamic Union:Lots of Muslum states united in one.Not much to talk about them.

APR:Stand for "African People's republic".Aldo the name is like on a socialistic state...they are a Democracy that recieved independence in 1904 afther a lots of Boer wars and different rebelitions in South Africa.Now ther goal is to rule all of Africa.

USNA:"United States of North America"...now I will explain:In the US war for independence,the americans manage to capture Monreal and in their declaration of independece...they recieve ALL OF Canada.Later the rebel forces are crushed in the civil war.In the period 1909-1916 the lead a lots of "Banana Wars''.In those wars they capture all of Central America,without Mexico.But the Mexicans volunteered to join in a iconomical and political union afther a "Peacefull Revolution" in 1926.Which leads to a country named "United States of North America"

New Britain:New Britain,aka. Australia,New Zealand,India and Indochina.We cleared the question back in WWI.Now the Union Jack does not represents England,Wales,Scotland and North Ireland....the flag now represents Australia,India,New Zealand and Indochina...


As you have noticed this is A MASSIVE scenario on the largest possible real world map I've ever found.Now I am testing it on a BETA stage.Expect is soon.

GB are his real initials.

This is because my scenario is set in 1947.
Not quite so modern then. Try his WWII collections. He updated these a couple of weeks ago.

Methinks you have played the HoI2 Armegeddon and Abyss scenarios...

The scenario itself is called "The Abyss".
HoI 2 is one of the greatest strategies I've ever played so it gives me a lot of ideas....and yes,the storyline is pretty much influenced (or stealed) (from) by HoI 2. Nothing wrong with it right ?
