I am bored. After thousands of hours playing Civ VI (and never really mastering it) I suppose I will buy Civ VII.

Is there any reason to pre-order?

What do I get if I pay more for the Deluxe or Founders' editions?

The OP in this thread has a nice graphic for just this. :)

I'll wait for the reviews. I don't believe in preordering a code on a computer such as a videogame.
However I only put 200-300 hours into CIV 6... but I wager you will probably like the game based on your civ6 playtime level no matter what state this new iteration arrives in.

Given my scepticism for the game, I'm tempted to wait, but then again, I have a week's holiday on the week starting friday february 7th, so the early release on the 6th by preordering the deluxe/founder edition does look sort of tempting. :hmm:

I guess by February 6th, you can see some games by content creators to make up your mind (if that doesn’t ruin the fun of exploring the game for you). And some reviews might also come pre-release.

Good point, will I still get the early access if I buy the game after the early access starts on the 6th but before the full release on the 11th?

I believe you should.

Haven't posted in a long time.
Taking a cautious interest into it. Civ6 was rather disappointing to me so not super optimistic but I'm intrigued by their age mechanic as I think it's a good decision if well executed.

Pricing for the full set is ridiculous though.

I still have yet to preorder. My initial reason was because I got laid off. But now I have a new job and I looked into the preorder options, but I’m uncertain which one I want. Basically, it boils down to whether or not I anticipate each future DLC being worth $30, unless I’m missing something.

Honestly, I'm not sure the civ bundles will be worth $30 each almost the price of a full dlc in 5 or 6, but I don't expect them to go on sale anytime soon so I might as well preorder founders for the bonus personas as well

I will cough up the extra 30 to play earlier, otherwise I will not buy DLC until heavily discounted.

I'm just gonna preorder the Standard game so that I can at least get 2 new civs that wont be available otherwise.

Right now I am waiting for my Cheque to clear.

I cant afford anything above $100.

Preorder is only 1 civ and 1 leader not 2 civ

They will probably be available 90 fays after launc, that's what happened for aztecs pre order bonus before in cvi 6 and for mongol in civ 5

As the Shawnee are sold with the Deluxe Edition as well, I doubt that they will be available for free at any time. Maybe they can also be purchased separately though, and not just with the deluxe upgrade.

Yeah..., I suppose I will as well. But with no real hype this time, just to have a legitimate right to crap on the game in the forums if it needs to be crapped on. Or sing legitimate praises, if it deserves that. I'm at the point where I've seen the Force Awakens(=Civ VI) already, and now I'm buying a ticket to the Last Jedi (? Civ VII ?), just to see if they can sink any lower. In the SW timeline they surely could and I never went to watch the third movie whatever its title was. I do sincerely hope that Sid's line will not follow the SW line, but Civ VI trajectory has kinda taken the most if not all of the hope away from me.

Hello Civ Fans - I just pre ordered my copy of Founders. I ran into a snafu however thinking I would get it for a major reduced price. I had a $50 dollar gift card for Amazon which brought the price down to $79.99 then I wanted to pay off the rest off with my visa reward points which would have covered the remaining cost. Also with no sales tax in my state getting the game for free sounded pretty nice. Well after a hour of frustration I finally learned that reward points can't be used for digital downloads on Amazon and my gift card is questionable if it will be applied. My current charge on release of February 6th is $129.99 but Amazon states on my invoice that my $50 dollar gift card will be applied when my credit card is charged for the purchase. I believe the last time I bought a digital purchase on Amazon was Civ 6 game code. Last physical copy I bought was Civ 5 at Fry's. So I was caught off guard thinking I could use a gift card plus reward points.

So YES....I will be up all day on Thursday February 6th and be at the laptop all day. After 7000 hours on Civ 6, I am looking for all new adventures to begin.

Brew God

I am a lot closer to purchasing than I was a few months ago; either way it won't matter much because I won't sit down and play it often, I just don't have the time. But if I agree with the message a game is trying to put out into the world (which is quite rare), I try to support it.

Gonna wait to see more details on Right to Rule and what their plans are afterward, I think, get a feel for their long-term release format. But things are looking very promising.

OK I posted on Sunday (4 days ago - see above) that I was waiting for my cheque to clear.

It finally cleared today (Thursday 6 Feb) and so I have finally purchased (Preordered) the Standard Game.

I am sad that I will only get one new Civ (Tecsumeh & Shawnee) but I guess its better than nothing.

I do have another question.

As a Standard Game player, can I still purchase any of those extra packs that come from the Crossroads of the World collection, or are those only for the Deluxe and Founders versions?

Thank you.
