very happy after the patch ...

.. changes to buildings are excellent , so many more things worth building
.. resources on the map are actually worth getting
.. city placement doesnt feel pointles anymore as tiles are much better
.. like the changes to socials alot
.. turn speed is alot faster
.. performance for me seems better , was always ok but definetly better now
.. modern techs taking longer

Cant wait for them to tweak the leaders abilitites in a future patch and the other things they announced will be upcoming . Definetly a great patch and i tip my hat , i was worried there wouldnt be a patch to change these things.

Just curious: what other things did they announce would be coming? I know multiplayer fixes were among them, but anything else?

from the steam news page

"We’ve already identified combat, multiplayer, late-game policies, wonders and civilization-unique bonuses as additional areas that will benefit from this sort of attention. And as this journey progresses we promise to keep an ear to the ground for other areas the Civilization community may want us to address."

This seems good, but how recent is it?

All of this was posted at the announcement of the current patch. So, about 3-4 weeks old I guess . . .

The game's definatley faster which is a big improvement, but other than that nothing much is improved that wasn't already in mods imo. diplomacy is still awful, start game everybody just wants to be friends bar a few and then after that its just groups of civ's mass denouncing eachother.

yeah i thought this was supposed to be fixed. first game i play under the patch, and i actually expanded less than usual (usually go straight for settlers, went NC first this time) and I was immediately denounced by 5 civs, and 4 of them went to war with me, for only the reason that i was expanding too fast they said.

Oh I was also immediately hostile to the Egyptians, saying i was going for the same victory that they were... and it was like turn 10! I hit a cultural ruin at turn 8 or so, and popped the liberty tree... that must be what caused it that wouldn't happen in a usual game... but still pretty lame...

I read they are supposed to be fixing AI issues (tactical/strategic/diplomatic balancing), everyone has complained enough about that, including myself. Although, I have to say the game has been much more fun post patch.

The same thing happened to me very early in a game. I don't know if I hit a cultural ruins yet, but I hope I did, because otherwise, the only way the game could think I was going for culture was because I just started a Monument... Something the AI is not supposed to know/act upon.
