My Civ addiction is getting out of hand.

    3, 4 hours at a time.

I'm going to try and go an entire week without starting a new game.

    Wish me luck.

3 or 4 hours at a time? What an amateur! ;)

Not saying I'm proud of it, but I've spent more than a couple 16-18 hour days playing it with nothing but bathroom and microwave breaks on rare occasions. Get with the program, dude

I usually play marathon/huge games, which doesn't help. Finishing one can take a week sometimes.... just one more turn....

When I stop on a day like Sunday (like today), I probably won't stop (except for food and sleep) until Saturday. See ya next Saturday!

I had to wean myself off of Civ 5 for a few months, but now that I spent a few weeks away from it, I've started playing again, although I do it less often than I used to, and often when I'm doing something else. As a matter of fact, I only finished my most recent game because it was the first time ever G&K came out that I could be arsed to play until the end.

And the addiction is made worse by the fact that time seems to speed up while playing the game.

just play on diety, and ONLY diety level on quick speed pangaea, add 3 extra civs and the only civ you can use is egypt. That should cure you (unless you somehow win).

I'm way too old and responsible to be addicted to a game.

I've broken my gaming computer. My "family" (where were they when Atilla was breathing down my neck with 2 other Civs marching on my capitol ?) insists that this is due to overuse.

At any rate, good luck OP, if normal methods don't work, can always try to play your computer to death.

I deleted the game and with slow rural US internet it would take insanely long to re-download but here I am a week later checking civfanatics so you know what I'm thinking about.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who's done this. Every time I finish a game I think "That's it, I'm bored of Civ now, I'm gonna play something else for a bit", but I never do... :(
