uploaded mod : Bigger Wonders

Some might remember when this one was even bigger. And my original thought was to post that it was still a bit to big, but then I thought : Hey, what if all Great Wonders were made... Great ;)

Pros :
make cities look more diverse.
easier to spot "landmarks"
not have to enter city to check whether it can be razed or not
easier locating "targets" for conquering

Cons :
Might make cities look somehow Cartoonish.

So.. what do YOU think?

Edit : Just took some of the vanilla wonders and scaled them x2.
Keep in mind that most of the time if not always, there will be a stack of units on top of the cities, making the wonders difficult to see even though they are twice the size of normal. (This is even more if using Formations (next step would be to scale units to 50% ;))
Also keep in mind that the pics are taken when Jesus went to 2. grade, so a lot of the cities are size 3-5. (Don't know why the AI wont grow them bigger as they are VERY healthy and happy, but this is 1.73 so maybe it was fixed in 1.74)

Hagia Sofia - Hanging Gardens - Great Lighthouse - Oracle & Chichen Icha - Patheon - Stonehenge - Colosus

In my opinion, the wonder of the attached screenshot is too big. But increasing wonders 1.5 times(maybe?)than normal one is not bad for me.

Civ IV in general looks a little cartoonish (especially after staring at screenshots of civ V) and I like the bigger wonders. A lot.

I think twice as big is too big, but I'd also go for one and half times bigger, for instance.

Some of the wonders don't need enlargement at all (Olympic, Alambra) while others need more (Himeji Castle). The pics I put is zoomed in without units. I think it is ok with 200% for most wonders when they are zoomed out and in context with units and surrounding area. Example of Artemis, Sphinx and Stonehenge :

edit : put a mod in first post. it is savegame compatible

I like the idea of larger wonders too. In the end, does the mod double the size or just do 1.5 times -- what was the final decision?

Nice (cool) idea. I too think too big would spoil the view.

I notice in large cites, when you zoom in, you can see little buildings, you have built over time, that are now inside the city. Maybe this can be used as an example of how to put wonders inside a city the same way but make them look significant.

Is the only way to signify a wonder or great wonder, for its notice, by simply enlarging it?

Mark

P.S. What do I know, I don't program. :)

I like the Ide a lot, sure not every wonder need a x2, but I guess some can even be bigger (piramide for exemple they are huge in real so why not in CIV), the colosse is too big in the screen shot for my test . . .

i agree partially on the colossus. Partially because it is too big compared to the city but since it always is placed in water it is actually to small (compared to the ships and fishing boats) ;)

I'll suggest people trying the mod. When in context with other elements of civ they don't seem too big IMO.
I'd like to reduce the size of units because of the formation modmod and also some improvements are too big, but thats another story.
