Calling all Finns and those interested in Finnish history, culture etc.
How about a mod pack celebrating our nations 100 year long journey as an independent actor on the world stage?
Some ideas for components;
1. Finnish Natural Wonders;
-Lake Saimaa, home of the Saimaa seal.
- Saana Fell, A famous and majestic fell in Lapland. Well, maybe not as majestic as Mt. Everest, but it´s something? :-D
- Koli, national park, the national landscape of Finland they say, with hills, forests and lakes as far as the eye can see, it´s beautiful, I´ve been there so I can confirm that. :-D
game wise, maybe Koli could be a 2 or 3 tile wonder, one tile of lake and surrounding forested hills?
2. The Finnish Civilization;
We Finns have a long history, going back to the hunter-gatherers of stone age etc. However we spent the period from approx. 1152-1809 under Swedish rule and from 1809 to 1917 as an autonomous Grand Duchy under the Russian Czar. So as an independent nation we are very much a newcomer to the "world stage".
Possible leaders;
- C.G.E. Mannerheim, Marshal Of Finland During the 2nd World War, also President for a while after the war.
- Urho Kaleva Kekkonen, President of Finland for a long period during the Cold War, skilled at walking the political tightrope between east and west during that troubled period.
- Mauno Koivisto, President of Finland after Kekkonen, steered Finland towards the west and eventual EU membership.
Unique Units & Buildings;
- Sauna, aqueduct district maybe?
- Ski Infantry, Fast moving WW2 infantry.
