IE crashes!

Just got Opera. Both Opera and IE have their own specific advantages, but at the end of the day I think if I had to choose I would go for Opera.

I have Opera and won't go back to IE. Opera is more stable and faster on my computer. There are some sites that won't work properly on Opera (fewer and fewer of them though) so I still have IE installed, just in case. ;)

Just as a footnote, Netscape also DOES NOT crash. Had it for 3 months and it never did !

although Microsoft has strangled Netscape for a considerable amount of time with the free and integrated IE, Netscape delivered the final itself with the release of Netscape 6, which looked way too fruity and was slower than a dead snail. Netscape 7 seemed to have corrected that problem, but their user base was already gone.

The Windows Explorer / Internet Explorer integration is extremely handy. I'm having huge troubles with opening folders at the moment and being able to view them in IE is centainly very advantageous.

best soloution: avoid M$

i use opera browser. www.opera.com

i just started using it, but mouse gestures make it fun! and you can open multiple pages in one window, and it didn't crash on me ONCE! i'm also running F @ H 24/7 at 100% CPU utilization..

i stay away from messenger, too. i like trillian. 5 messaging programs in one. :)

Use Opera. Crashes about 1/10th as frequently as IE on my box.

Yes. Opera rules. Plus if you're forced to close it by ctrl-alt-del or it crashes, you can continue from last time! So you don't lose what you were doing.

I think the security in IE is better. At least there are some webpages which needs security (in my case our internet bank) that won't allow me to log in unless I use IE or Netscape. I think the problem is that Opera doesn't support certificates. Hopefully the next version will.

The most valuable features in Opera is the Open in background function and the built-in popup-stopper. Apart from Broadband, nothing has speeded up surfing more than these two functions.:goodjob:

I'm surprised so few people actually use Netscape today. Yes, Netscape is still avalible for download ( www.netscape.com ), it's updated frequently and has better security. You can actually set it up to reject cookies and pop-ups much more intelligently than IE. Also, and most important, Netscape doesn't spy you ...

I hate Netscape. We're formed to use it at school.

try crazey browser or opera
i have just installed win98 lite with out ms ie and installed crazy browser its fast and better in other ways (it can access this site good as well)

from what i read on the opera page unless i want to pay i have to dl a version that puts ads on it

Of course, they don't develop a good browser for free. Only MS can afford that...

It's not very big though, it's almost like it is in Kazaa, and it's placed on the toolbar, so you don't lose much area for the homepages. You can try it and uninstall it if you don't like it.
