If Pirates! had 4 player support on PS3 and PC, offline and full open world, wouldn't it be great?

And cross platform multiplayer.

How would the ball room dancing work out on the Wii?

I'd like a larger world......a better storyline, they should also have like an arcadey one, and an at least semi-realistic world.....and a global map? at least also have like the Mediterranean sea, and some atlantic ocean.......

I should add that I would want 4 players to play together on the same console in the same room.

There IS multiplayer for Pirates! The PSP version of this game has multiplayer. Has anyone tried it out?

I'd like to be able to "cut out" a ship in a port. Maybe that would involve sneaking into town, capturing the ship in a skeleton crew vs. skeleton crew fight, and then fighting the captain of the guard to blow up the battery.

Who knows, maybe you could snatch that ship of the line that was too fast for you to catch?

Another aspect that I've wished for would be a chase screen.

You know, you're following a ship at the limit of your range and you don't want it to escape. So you'd shoot at it with your "bow chaser" canon, trying to get in a careful shot, or maybe even a lucky one, in order to damage the steering or maybe knock some rigging off and into the water. This would slow them down so that you could get ito proper fighting range.

To make things more interesting, you would have controls to steer the ship and aim the canon on the keypad, but the deck would be tilted acording to heading and wind, so changing the elevation on the canon would also change the right and left. The fleeing ship would take evasive measures, so it would get tricky.

You want to do Pirates! in Multiplayer?

well it might be not from Firaxis, and maybe not even the best out there, but i allways found Pirates of the Burning Sea a quite well(besides Avatar combat, though it is improving) alternative. Yeah i know it's a MMO and it costs money per month of play, never the less, it is really good

Obviously using the wii fit board would work, but just moving the remote in step with the music to a particular direction would work fine, as well. Plus you could put in sailing controls (like hoisting or rudder changes). The sword fighting itself would make the entire game a must have, if everything else worked marginally well. The Wii needs a good strategy game...

I would want different start-up scenarios, including having to start as a carpenter or gunman, and work your way up the ladder. Maybe earn loyalty with each battle your captain puts you in, and once you get enough support, you could challenge him to a dual??? Maybe even have target practice from a cannon or

Have the so-called named pirates regenerate as you capture a few, so there are always competition out there other than harmless rogue pirate raiders.

Allow you to auto-repair/sell, or auto-merchant, so you arent having to do that every port call.

Allow you to make a home port, and turn it into a major port (with the risk of others capturing it while you are away.)

allow you to form partnerships with specific pirates or to build independent fleets, to attack various shipping lanes, or defend particular harbors.

Allow the map to be randomly generated, so you dont always have the same historic ports. or even land/sea/wind traits.

Force you to be more diplomatic or face consequences. Yes no questions from governor for specific challenges, like sacking a neighboring town within 2 months, etc in order to remove price on your head, or to negotiate peace treaties with indians/other pirate havens...

Allow for a game that does not have Montebon and Raymondo. Or have other specific end goal scenarios, like conquering the entire Spanish main, or escorting the treasure fleet around the map without too many losses.

I could go on and on...

Not everyone wants to spend $100 on a horrible game with bad graphics, no entertainment value, and little practicality...

Why would it be on the Wii? I think it'd be for the PS3, 360, and PC if they made a third one. Which Firaxis should...

I'd like to be able to play as my kids so I could get more stuff. I want all the Carribean!

And the Med. Sea would be fun.

The Wii motion plus makes swordplay better, and the DDR and Outdoor Life Extreme Challenge mats offer opportunities for dancing and treasure hunting.

Aim higher

aim for something designed out of the current version

aim for modability

then whatever Firaxis removes from the game

modders can put back

And cross platform multiplayer.

Has anyone ever achieved that?

A Wi pirates would be cool. Not only the sword fights, but imagine playing as crew, altering rigging and cannons and stuff. Problem is, is there a controller that can do that.

It would be good to do a third part of Pirates for solo gamer with some aspects comin back from old like plunderin Silvertrain an TreasureFleet in town and be able to play a famous pirate scenario again but as a whole career like that of Henry Morgan and be able to develop an own Pirate Heaven on a existing city or a brand new place for PS2 or maybe 3 or build a own Pirate Empire all over the Global World and with specific events triggerin givin more goals to achieve, where yu can fullfill multiple victory conditiongoals and fights with fleets more than just one ship and make City raiding more challenging and nationality changes of cities only allow under certain cercumstances and able to get reinforcements from alliances with other pirates or a nation if you get rank and letter of marque from them and made pact for some time and be able to spend plundermoney on something like own city
