I wonder - and I mean this seriously - if hilary gets elected will it make things difficult with Saudia Arabia? culturally Wahabbism wont take kindly to having to deal with a woman, a woman who can make or break them, no less... I think among chauvanistic Islamic leaders US credibility will nosedive if they have a female President... for instance, Iranians would find it all but impossible to be seen to back down to a female president.

I honestly don't think it'd be a huge deal. She's still existing in the very patriarchal system that is national and international politics, which has adapted to the advance of women into leadership by just treating them like honorary men and expecting "male" traits and virtues of them anyway. The presidency of a country is a very male office regardless of the anatomy of the current occupant.

Same thing happens when female leaders have power in Islamic countries like Pakistan, Bangledesh or Indonesia. Their gender becomes temporarily subordinate to the fact that they're holding office. And of course it helps that they usually only get power because of family connections (Sukarnoputri or Bhutto being prime examples). In fact, by analogy to female leaders in Asian countries it'd be quite simple for people to just see her as the next logical step in a political dynasty.

Oh, I suspect Trump will eclipse Clinton, once all is said and done. Clinton was just politician-entitled. Trump is billionaire-entitled. Floodgates are just starting to open, I suspect.

That sounds a bit strange to my ears. We've never had a female president so this never came up.

We are a nation of tradition, so naturally he will still be referred to as the "First Lady". At the very least you know Congressional Republicans are going to call him that.
