Combat system (choice of units or stacks/...)
Everything AI (make it more "clever")
More specific "traits", civs ,units
Implement a new Government/control concept
Implement a new corruption/production/economy concept
Civil war/schisms/subcultures(military/religious/...)
Dynamic Civs (splitting, joining, etc.)

Question: Doesn't the Civil War option make the Dynamic Civs option somewhat rhedundant?

It depends as civil war may just refer to the Civ2 feature where a leading civ that lost their capital split, whilst dynamic civs would allow new civs to appear in the game rather than a largely fixed number. Also there would be different types of civs, independant empires, vassals and probably more.

As you can see Civil war was a very broad and ill defined category
The next poll will be much more specific and with the option of choosing multiple answers. And yes in my mind DC was included in CW but the question somehow found its way in the poll.(I do not remember putting it but...)

I voted for the editor, if there were only one option.
With a good editor, you could make a *real* good game by yourself, and most probably that will be the reason why we will never see a good editor.
Within days, average, good and brilliant mods would be available. And the next expansion would just look poor...
