If I'd told you four years ago...

Luckily, I get paid in Sorosbucks for my job as a FEMA Camp Enhanced Interrogation Specialist. The government can't track those.

I bet then that you have chip in your brain(or anus) without even knowing about it....

It is well known that all Americans have chips implanted in their brain and anus. Luckiliy, we only require one chip for your typical libertarian.

Most people are simply too mundane to realize. For example, concerns over the potential of artifical intelligence has led many to speculate over scenarios where the machine eliminates mankind. Not well thought thru. In fact, now we are begining to see the effects of technology on the worth of manpower. Throughout all of history manpower has been a prime resource. No longer. With the combination of the welfare culture and the productivity of machines we now see each unit of manpower as a net loss rather than a net win.

Technology, the intelligent machines of today and those to come will therefore be used in perfectly logical fashion. First to replace the work we do and then to replace us. The enemy is not HAL but those who would harness him to eradicate the commons.

This concept is impossible to dismiss. It is supported religiously (environmentalism, global warming fears, overpopulation) and it is supported politically (dehumanizing whole groups as a prelude to genocide).

Barring the return of the Christ, it is inevitable that Global Elitists will visit a near extinction level event on the broad mass of humanity.

Our only hope, outside of divine intervention, is to arm ourselves against big government and prepare to fight to the death.

The foundation is being laid now and the Reichstag fire will come later.

Thats very kind. I am honoured.

WindFish:
The contrails do have an effect on the local climate. After 9/11 when all the fights in and out of Murrica were re-routed to the Socialist Republic of Canuckia, they found that the temperature of the daytime was 1 degree higher than it should have been and the night temperature was 1 degree lower.
Source. I call bogus on the statistical relevance of this.

I remember an episode of Horizon (BBC) on global dimming referencing this in 2005 or 2006.

Meh, I find it dubious. 1 degree temperature differences happen all the time. Given the fuzziness in retrospective research (what quantity to look at? Procedures etc.), I'm not surprised they found something.

This increase in DTR is larger than any
during the 11–14 September period for the
previous 30 years, and is the only increase
greater than 2 standard deviations away
from the mean DTR (s.d., 0.85 C).

That is slightly remarkable. There should be (assuming Gaussian, ...) a 5% chance to be more than 2 standard deviations away from the mean. So the chance that 30 years fall within 2 standard deviations is only 0.95^30=20%

No, these type of things are the only things our government seems competent at doing.

Indeed.

The Final Warning

I went to bed in America,
land of the Free.
I woke up in Obamina,
no freedoms for me.

Black choppers overhead,
drone strikes abound.
If you speak out you're dead,
through cell phones you're found.

They watch you through google
and outlawed the lord.
They took my poor poodle
and forced her to abort.

Stock up on ammo,
horde all the guns.
When he's not shafting a camel,
this land Obama runs.

Resist all the roundups
or to deathcamps you go.
This land needs a cleanup-
this much we know.

Throw out the dictator,
before he kills this land.
He is beholden to labor,
we all know he's mad.

It is not too late and the die not set;
time remains, we can still change our fate.
Heed the libertarians all over the net -
but do not argue, we do not debate.

Was he sleeping from 2001 until now? I could even go back to Abraham Lincoln or Andrew Jackson or even the day the Constitution usurped the Articles of Confederation if I really wanted to, but I'll be generous and start at 2001.
GW . . . Mobby is part of the government.

And? So is Ron Paul, but he's smart enough not to trust them as far as he can throw them, even at the ripe old age of 77;)

If you still trust the government you're deluded.

Thank you OP for having guts!

I read a week ago that the contrails would be sprayed and it would rain this thrusday...and look at south California it is raining... !

Yeah because it's so hard to look at a weather report, and makes these things up.

I find that the greatest threat to our Republic and its democracy is not from the machinations of this nation's government but from the ignorance and greed of its people.

So, uh, let that be a lesson to you. :p

Indeed. It is the ignorance of the people that allows a state to murder people and take over their countries out of greed, and then allow them to expand their police state under the guise of "Security" and trample over liberty.

The governement has already destroyed the Republic, and what we have is perhaps worse than democracy in some ways.

There are no death squads in the streets. Despite the fact that you are here on the Internet, exposing the evils of the American shadow government and lifting back the vale which hides the evil communist behind the current, you have yet to be hauled off and locked away in some dungeon.

This country has clearly had it too good for too long for libertarianism to be as alluring as it is to so many people. I'm sure "the producers" will be open-handed when the crops won't grow.

I didn't claim that it was.

Our country is not the worst in the world, and certainly not for the people who actually live within it. But we are deteriorating rapidly.

People have been arrested for speaking before, BTW, and not just for direct threats or for advocating violent overthrow of the government. People have been arrested for speaking against the President within his sight, and "Free speech zones" have been created for protest in certain cases, to deliberately move protest from the public spotlight.

And then... just read the OP for yourself.

A soft tyranny yes, but a tyranny we are.

This country has clearly had it too good for too long for libertarianism to be as alluring as it is to so many people.

What do these two ideas have to do with each other?

'm sure "the producers" will be open-handed when the crops won't grow.

What does this have to do with anything?

Actually, he has been hauled off and locked away. We have specialists posting under his account so that suspicians are not raised.

When the use the word "Tyranny" in the context you do, it's actually an affront to people who LIVE IN ACTUAL DESPOTIC, TYRANICAL COUNTRIES

You know, like:
Syria
Libya (prior to the revolution)
North Korea
Belarus

And other places

Get some bloody perspective, goddamn it

A soft tyranny yes, but a tyranny we are.

You have not experienced and are not experiencing tyranny. How can you say you are living in fear when you are free to express your contrary views "in broad daylight" -- here on a forum on the Internet where anyone can see it? How can you say you are living in fear when you can go out and buy cheap, readily available food? You are not starving. You are not being oppressed. No one's boot is on your neck.

The government does not exist to do your bidding. Oppression =/= people you disagree with being allowed to do things you disagree with, and oppression =/= the government not upholding your particular special interest group.

In other words, you are expressing a minority viewpoint in a democracy. How can you expect not to be overruled?

The citizens of the United States do not enjoy many of the civil liberties that citizens of other modern democracies do, this is true. But it is not because of the all-powerful will of some almighty, hidden dictator. It is because of regional governments with too much power enforcing provincial viewpoints on their citizens. It isn't the federal government that says two men can't get married, it's the state of Alabama, or the state of Kansas, etc.

Any and all oppression which exists in the United States doesn't emanate from the power of Washington but from the power of the state governments. We have been drowned in a sea of provincialism.

What do these two ideas have to do with each other?

You do not know what tyranny is. It is not tyranny when you can freely express your views in an essentially public place while drinking a Diet Coke -- that, actually, is freedom. Freedom does not compel other people to agree with you, or to stop talking when they don't.

That's tyranny.

What does this have to do with anything?

The evil government has been overthrown! The people are free to organize themselves into anarcho-capitalist producer fiefdoms. I'm a powerful producer who does important things for the economy, you are a lowly leech with nothing of worth to me. Why should I do anything for you? What prevents the poor, weak and otherwise unfortunate from starving and dying?

EDIT: Actually, what useless said. Go tell survivors of the Khmer Rouge that you are living under horrible, despotic oppression.

Democracy is an affront to individual liberty, and you worship the will of the majority far, far too much.

I never said America was as bad as the Khmer Rouge. You aren't reading what I'm saying. "Soft Tyranny" is less serious than just plain old tyranny. But it still properly expresses the fact that its still tyrannical.

Your blaming provinicialism means that YOU do not understand the problem. That you think the problem is that gays cannot get married, rather than the all powerful surveilance state/warfare state than you aren't paying attention. At all.

Are you really going to tell me stuff like the below link describes isn't even worrying? That since the majority has sanctiioned it, its all good?

Democracy is an affront to individual liberty

You are asking for the freedom to oppress the liberty of others. That the government cannot give you, and I would fight to deny you.

Also, would you mind if I quoted you on this?
