What should we do with it?

- Raze it to make room for our cities?
- Keep it until the industrial era, then raze it?
- Keep it permenantly?

Abandon it...our cultural borders will take up where the city's current borders are. Who wants 4 cities that only get 6 tiles? We have enough cities in the region.

I think Swazi should be removed from the earth (unless Zululand founds a new city named Swazi). Another question: should we abandon it immediately, or get workers out of it? If we immediately rush a worker, the population will go down to 1, then the city will be abandoned. Or do we want to get more workers out of it (2 for example)?

*** Keep it **** for a while. It sucks as a location, but look at the costs and benifits:

Cost: minimal added corruption to Pete and Bentropolis. I doubt the corruption even changes in these cities.

Benefits:
At the minimum it provides 1 commerce and 1 sheild per turn. Turn the 1 laborer into a specialist and get another gold or beaker. It also supports another couple of units that we don't have to pay GPT. With a tax man look at it as providing the gold support for the courthouses in both Pete and Windurst and maybe supports a couple of Swords. The sheilds can produce units that can be disbanded nearby for some minimal shields.

In this very corrupt area no other city could get this production out of the swazi tile once corruption and waste swallow it up.

I agree with MOTH, keep it for the moment. For now, none of the surrounding towns have enough laborers to need the extra squares from swazi. However, the minute this changes, bury it.

Keep it and turn it into a worker factory. If not then raze it down to the ground.

Yeah. I agree to keep it... until we eliminate Mordor. then we should raze it, but not while its home country lives.

I hate to keep saying this, ;) but I agree with MOTH. We should get as many Workers out of it as we can. It will be a long while before the surrounding cities need those tiles. The more Workers we produce, the more Zulu population we will diminish (I believe). This will make the eventual abandonment of the city less of a hit against us.

To avoid upsetting the Zulu, we should not raze it unless there are more Jap citizens than Zulu. In the long run we have to abandon it tho' as it is very much in the way.

They're only size 2 (not many Zulus left). I think we need more than half before abandoning it, so it'll be awhile.

All right, I'll probably post a poll this evening. Do these sound like good options?:

abandon immediately
rush a worker
produce workers, use specialists
produce military units, use specialists
produce workers, no specialists
produce military units, no specialists
treat like a normal city (ie build improvements and such)
other
abstain

Obviously more explanation would be given.

Perhaps two seperate polls are necessary. One to determine what to do with Swazi right when it flips (which you have), and one to determine what we should ultimately do with the city (abandon it, pump workers til it's 0, keep it, etc).

It may not have been obvious from my previous post, but at least the short term (ie until the end of the turn chat), the options ask about the future of the city. If necessary, more discussion can be done later. The poll is posted here.
