What moral belief would you choose?

For a definition of Universal Truth

"What is absolutely true is always correct, everywhere, all the time, under any condition." by Steven Robiner

If we were not constrained to moral beliefs, I would choose simply:
"A Universal Truth Exists".

However, since we are only dealing with morality, then ...
"Good and Evil balance out in the end".

This allows for universal relative stability [net zero increase or decrease] and progress without creating a world with so little stimulation that it ends up in stagnation.

I would argue that the universal truth that I proposed already exists due to the subjective nature of Good and Evil. If I had to choose a moral belief that did not already exist as universal truth, then I would not choose anything because the universe already exists as it should.

What moral belief would you choose?

The Golden Rule count? Or is it already a universal truth? Or perhaps its not actually a moral belief?

There is a heaven and everyone goes there.

Humanity's capabilty is fast exceeding its intellect.

Playing at Godhood is meant for Gods not mere mortals.

Well, this is obviously not true, but I wish it was.
I wish having good intentions behind your actions meant that the actions worked out for the best.

Well, it wouldn't make a difference to anyone's life anyway, so who cares? If XYZ was a universal truth, there's no reason to expect that we'd know about it. And if we did know about it, there's no reason to expect that we'd acknowledge it as a truth, let alone a universal one. And even if we did acknowledge XYZ as a universal truth, people don't always act morally anyway!

And hence, the old addage that the Road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

But I think it is paved with Lawyers, Politicians and Door-to-Door salesmen.

this question makes no sense

The road to heaven is paved with foul intentions.

this question makes no sense

Crap, I was going to put a clause saying that no one can challenge my methodology.

Well, why does the question not make sense?

Well, that sex with me is a moral imperative of course.

Because, if it was a universal truth, no special pleading would be necessary. On the other hand, if it wasn't, no amount of wishful thinking would be sufficient. If a "universal truth" was truly "universal", it wouldn't be subject to one's preferences and dispositions.

Well, yes. Kinda tells you what my position on morality is.

That it is a human construct that probably isn't "universal".

All women are beautiful.

Disagreement is punishable with an inability to reproduce.

Umm ... duh?

All women are beautiful.

Disagreement is punishable with an inability to reproduce.

See, here is the problem with naive attempts of bending 'truth'. If that statement were indeed "universally true" then it must be true to women too. We would have lots of lesbians. Hmm ... now ... that may be interesting in its own way. However, it would actually have costs for reproductive desires, for women.

Jesus, you cut right to the point.
