?

Excluding Internet and the UN, which GW would be your favorite to start out with?

I voted for Pyramids along with everyone else... JS Bach is also a great choice especially if you have a long continent.

On certain maps, not all games, the lighthouse could be very valuable, putting you in a situation where you can contact other civs but they can't get to you (or to each other).

I think the Pyramids would be more valuable from the get-go than Longevity. They would both give the same rate of growth, 10 turns to grow by two with a food surplus of 2, but the Pyramids would allow an extra tile to be in use that whole time, allowing more production and commerce. Something else to think about, however: With Sun Tzu, you could rush your neighbor with veterans immediately. Give Sun Tzu to the Aztecs early...*shudder*. I voted for the Pyramids though.

My biggest reason for choosing longevity over pyramids is that I could still get granaries/pyrdamids soon with longevity thus getting 4 times growth rate.

With just pyramids you're capped at 2 times growth rate for the whole game more or less.

Well, I suppose if you look at it that way. :) But if you are asking which is the most valuable wonder from the beginning, I'd have to go with Pyramids.

I'd chose Longevity because then I still have a chance of building the Pyramids myself from the beginning...:)

G-Library would be my choice, I'm free to go for any tech I want and less trading means more tech to sell and $$ saved up.

Ofcourse, getting Nuke early is VERY VERY EVIL!

hehe, however, a *hand-made* barracks comes in fairly cheap for a militaristic civ... :D

owning MP? I assume you'd just own the wonder, not the tech to build nukes. Even if you see the needed resources on the map, you must be somewhat lucky to have them.
Then, a nuke is waaaay too expensive to build in ancient times... :(

Well the Manhattan Project wouldn't be very useful without having access to Uranium now, would it? ;)

After due thought, Longevity would be a killer because you can still build granaries / Pyramids. Your growth rate would be incredible.

Just imagine the ICS possiblities. Spreading like a plague .....
Exponential growth. Dom on a pangea without a war. :)

and you'd have to keep spreading on higher levels just to keep unhappiness under control.

Vote changed from Pyramids to Longevity

    What a silly poll :p

Now if it only included wonder for the 1st 2 time periods then it would be ok, but all of them

Like the guy said, what it the point in Man Project when there is NO chance of any Nukes. I think Hover Damn is good, but in this instant it would be pointless as there is NO CHANCE of you getting a factory.

Now a more sensible poll would be either:
Whcih is the most usefull GW during the game?
    Or
What of the ancient wounder would you like to start with (Maybe next period also)

Now from that poll Longevity would not come anywhere & I think Pyramids would win.

For myself, it all depends on the type of Map i'm playing on. Sometimes Pyramids or Great Library would be great, at other time Great Lighthouse would be better.
