It’s not as daft as you think!
As you all well know, music is the opium of the masses,
then again so is opium…

Anyway, We at the Dictator HQ want to hear;
1 what kind of nation anthem you would have,
2 how often would it be played on air,
3 would you have someone famous sing it, (like in-sink, or whatever they are called)
4 would you sing it yerself!?!

In the ancient tradition we kindly despots will give you a poll

1. A Swashbuckling Pirate Theme!

2. It would be played in the background of my hypnotic speeches, as well as the only song allowed on my personal sitcom.

3. It would be sung 2 times a day by the people, once in the morining and once before bedtime (Much like prayers). Children would be taught in Militay Acadamy's, and will recite it regularly. No one person sings it.

4. I would not sing it myself, the song is mainly to keep the slaves from rebelling, and to listen to while holding public executions.

4. No! Because it wouldn't acutally have words. That way, no one could screw it up by singing it badly.

First I would take over infogrames. Then I would use their crap to my advantage! I would have the inforgrames song (oh, the pain) as my anthem and the sheer pain of listening would brainwash people into supporting me. It would be continously played on the radio, on every station, so no one could avoid it's hypnotic powers.

1. My national anthem would be One Step Beyond by Madness
2. It would be played everynight at sundown. This will be part of a ceremony in which all my minions will dress in black suits with thin black ties and be forced to "skank" to the song. It will be like a Nazi rally, with better dancing, sharp clothing and a cool light show.
3. Madness of course. But if they can't make it Fishbone will be allowed to fill in. Plus all fo our scientific research will be aimed at longevity so that Madness, a few of my select minions, and I will be be able to perform this sacred ceremony till the end of time.

My preference for anthem is something in the manner of Gimno Sovetskovo Soyuza - rousing, martial and loud. Something along the lines of "Darkshade Uber Alles"
There would also be a lot of Wagner played, and a modified version of the Horst Wessel Lied constantly in use - something for my evil blond blue eyed stormtroopers to lustily sing as they goosestep down the streets.

I would never commit the undignified act of singing it myself, nor would there be any silly musicians singing it - it would be performed by mass choir. Although I may have some private recitals of it by Hanson

The soundtracks to Excalibur and The Mission would also get a lot of airtime.

1. I would take my selection from the Wall. In The Flesh (the second version), followed by Run Like Hell, and then Waiting for the Worms (minus the the word "Stop" and onward at the end)
2. It would be sing every evening, and at all parties. Everyone would dance to it and clap in unison.
3. I would never sing it. I could kidnap Roger Waters and force him to do it, or merely outproduct the work to cheap minions with commanding voices.
4. Only in my sleep, where no one could here me.
