If your country was in Civ4...

Canada:

Universal Suffrage
Free Speech
Emancipation
Free Market
Free Religion

Holy Roman Empire:

Hereriditary Rule
Vassalage
Serfdom
Decentralized?
Organized Religion

Under Dubya Bush it's more like..

Police State (woo Patriot Act!)
Bureaucracy
Caste System (Paris Hilton doesn't have to be punished like us commoners)
Free Market
Theocracy (God bless America, in God we trust, Creationism being taught in public schools)

That couldn't be more true!!!

Moderator Action: Let's save the debates for Off Topic.

Moderator Action: Thread re-opened. Let's focus on the civics instead of debating about a particular country.

A lot of people put free religion to the table but does it mean "free to choose his/her religion"? Or "there isn't any state religion, even if there is". Like in finland majority of people is ev.luts. but you can choose your religion. So do we have state religion say "organized religion" or free religion?

Oh really?? Teachers in my public schools always said we are not really allowed to speak about creationism in class.

Lucky you, Cristoval.

Don't even start with that whole creationism garbage. I went to a Catholic school for both primary, and secondary school. Bunch of bs if you ask me.

I agree, rabidveggie. I wonder why they think we care about what a dude said thousands of years ago.

Anyone notice how this went from a Forum about Politics to a Forum about Religion?

In CIV, you get free happy face each religion past the state religion (atleast thats what it says in civipedia), so it means 'free to choose even if there is [historical remains of] state religion' even in the game. IMO.

So for me, Finland would be definitely

Free Speech
Emancipation
Free Market
Free Religion

More toughts about Bureaucracy VS US (would describe how capital Helsinki has most the jobs in the whole country, is the production powerhouse). Plus Finland is a bit bureaucratic country, [IMO] in good, corruption preventing and healthcare gaining ways..
I might personally say

US (with a bit of Bureaucracy)

Note the fact that Chieftess yelled at us to stop debating country's....

But pour moi...
France:
Universal Suffrage
Free Speech
Emancipation
State Property (closest to Socialism i can think of)
Free Religion

that is probably the best thing I've heard when it comes to Governments with Free Religion. Because these Governments may still carry on traditions of their past with certain religion, but they don't care what you worship.
