My civ4 crashed one or two months ago and still crashing!
Yes, same xml error "Caught unhandled exception creating XML parser object"
This is my favourite game and i played it every day, but now... I must fix it but i dont know how to!
Ill let everyone to join my pc via team viewer or radmin to fix this sh*t!
Please help me! Im going crazy... Rawrrr

Before i had 1.74 (same xml error), but now i re-installed game and i have 1.0.0
I think, there is no problem in game, cus i fully re-installed, re-patched, installed colonization and tried with another account.

it is possible that something prevents the xml parser that comes with windows from working properly. Your windows install is not up to date - installing service pack 3 *might* help...

i cant upgrade to sp3, my win is edited.

no - my tech supporting begins and ends in this forum - everything else and I have to point to people who are actually paid for doing this. My employer would not look kindly on me doing tech support elsewhere much less during work hours

anyways:
these errors in my experience have two main causes:
something disabled or screwed with the xml parser that comes with windows - any kind of unofficial change in windows can do this.
you use a non-latin version of windows in which case you should ensure that your unicode and non-unicode language settings are put to english (or any latin language).

Sorry I cannot help more - but troubleshooting known systems is hard enough - with third party changes it becomes neigh impossible (and most likely run contrary to the forum rules on this site - this site has a no tolerance policy with regards to copyright infringements)...
