Immortal Dutch Domination - REX/Spy Fusion

Just finished reading the story so far (all in one day lol) and just have to say that was massively entertaining and I learned alot reading it as well. definately voted it 5 stars, cant wait for the ending!

“The Dutch have more than five dozen modern armored divisions, Supreme Commander Ragnar,” General Andersson says meekly.

“What?! Give me your pistol!”

General Andersson complies. Ragnar promptly shoots General Andersson through the leg, eliciting a howl.

“Unbelievable! Those Dutch scum have that kind of firepower? How? Why? Argh!” Ragnar fumes. “Strike the nearest navy group! We can’t win on land, but we’ll give them Hel on water!”

“Willem, our tanks have been upgraded and modernized. We have a ton of them in the Sumerian islands and near the Korean border. Korea just captured an Ottoman city. If we don’t act soon, Suleiman might capitulate to Ragnar!” Maarten says with some urgency in his voice.

“Very well, Maarten. Do what we must. Also, see to it that Jan Bushnell the Second and Eleven Feathers are promoted for their successful campaign in Sumeria. Have them consolidate our armies north of Ragnar’s territory in preparation for a massive strike,” Willem says, his eyes aglow.

“Happy Hindu times!” Inca’s Capac says, grinning. “By the way, Inca shares a border with a major Viking city. Would you mind airlifting some reinforcements for your obsequious friends?”

“Not at all, Huayna,” Willem beams.

“Yay!”

“Indeed,” says Gilgamesh, looking bored.

*RING RING*

“Yes?” Willem answers, picking up the phone.

“Willem, bad news!” newly-promoted Admiral Cornelis Tromp shouts. “Ragnar has sunk our entire Southwestern fleet. All of our battleships and destroyers are lost!”

“What? What about our air cover?”

“There were just too many aircraft and ships, sir. The enemy has landed troops near Khoisan, now that we lost all our ships there.”

“Send as many rescue ships and planes as you can to search for survivors. Order a counterstrike against their beachhead, and press Korea in Operation Bowel Movement!”

“Yes sir! We’ll give them a taste of their own medicine, with mass bomber strikes and tanks and--”

“Just do it. And send Eleven Feathers, Jan Bushnell the Second, and yourself to personally oversee Operation Thor, which will liberate Buddhaland from the clutches of Ragnar once and for all!”

Spoiler :

We cranked up research to 100% last turn, 1 turn shy of Computers, which obsoletes so many nice wonders but also unlocks Modern Armor. Next up: Robotics. (1395-96)

Almost all of our tanks are concentrated on the formerly Sumerian island and in a few large stacks near Korea. We upgrade them to Modern Armor. (1397-98)

Wow, even Korea captures an Ottoman city. We need to act fast to save Suleiman before he becomes a Ragnar vassal. DoW Ragnar and his vassals Augustus Caesar and Wang Konstipated. (1404-05)

We go for Korea’s lone oil well to cripple their unit production. (1407)

We also start to airlift and gift some of our obsolete units to Huayna so that he can upgrade them and defend himself. (1409)

Air support and battleship collateral allows Ragnar to wipe out one of our naval groups. (1414)

Now that we just lost our largest trading partner, we ask around to see if any stragglers will open their borders with us. (1415)

Robotics is done. Fiber Optics is next, but it obsoletes the Kremlin, so set the slider to 0% research and go on a spending spree before FO takes effect. (1417)

We have a ton of fighters, bombers, and ships near the Korean peninsula and guarding our coastline stretching from Long Island to Korea. We also have jet fighters, transports packed with troops, and a huge navy near Inca. (1418, 20)

Our economy. (1421)

Cuzco gets to build the Space Elevator since our other GP farm/production cities, Amsterdam and Moai/IW city, are too far away from the equator. (1423)

Standard operating procedure. Air and/or ship bombardment, air strikes, mobile artillery attacks, and armored attacks, supported by a few healers (knights, paratroopers, and anti-tank). Navy and transports on standby to move large volumes of troops quickly along the coastline. (1424-25)

Ragnar drops off some units via transport on the western coast of Colossia onto a hilltop, but we have some of our better outdated troops, like machine guns and infantry in the area. We will send some of our older bombers to help out with the west coast invasion. The invading stack can pillage this turn, as they are too strong to dislodge without air strikes, but next turn our bombers will cripple them and the outdated units nearby will mop up. (1429, 31)

Meanwhile, our unstoppable war machine is attacking in two columns, along both sides of Korea’s coastlines, just as we envisioned in Operation Bowel Movement. (1433)

Woohoo, more updates finally. Thx for not letting us down Axident.

Fantastic, almost as good as Sisutil's Princes of the Universe, but one that mostly concentrates on your game rather than the story. Though I hope we will see more actual story once you have the victory complete.

Arf the suspense is killing me. Will we see a dutch domination victory? Or are you waiting for the european championship and for the dutch victory over there (ahem :p)

Korea, 1925 AD:

Columns of smoke rise from the devastated countryside as Dutch bombers and artillery continually force the Korean army to retreat to the city of Inch’on. The scene repeats itself elsewhere in Korea, over and over again.

Huayna begs for support. Dutch liberators have landed on New Inca’s island to relieve pressure for Huayna and as the initial stage of Operation Thor.

Generals Eleven Feathers and Jan Bushnell Jr., and Admiral Cornelius Tromp, gather around the war room aboard the Aircraft Carrier Hindu Hug…

Meanwhile, in Amsterdam:

*RING RING*

“Yes?” Willem answers.

“Tromp here. Suleiman has made peace with Ragnar. The Vikings can now focus on just us!” Maarten says.

“Good. Tell your son to continue with Operation Thor,” Willem says with a smile.

“My pleasure. I mean, yes sir!” Maarten cries enthusiastically.

Spoiler :

Artillery got a bad rap in pre-BtS days, but mobile artillery is just as fast as tanks. Due to the extra mobility and also due to the nerfing of air units in BtS (max capacity is 4 without airports, 8 with airports), artillery is relevant again. (1435)

Even though it’s totally unnecessary, we upgrade many of our troops to Mech Infantry. Just because we can. (1436)

We finally give Capac some oil, among other spare resources. Maybe he can build something more useful than Apollo with it. (1440)

Gilgamesh is too rich for a vassal, so we lighten his wallet a bit while giving him some more spare resources. (1441-42)

Upgrading 63 tanks into Modern Armor tends to make one’s power rating go vertical. The mech inf upgrades will only add to the insanity. We build the Space Elevator, just because we can. And for more points. (1446-51)

With the help of rush-buying, our Incan cities and many of our Native American cities are mature. (1453)

Rosie makes Apollo. Suleiman makes peace with Ragnar but does NOT capitulate to him. (1457)

Excellent to see an update! Thanks a lot!

Excellent to see an update! Thanks a lot!

Thanks folks, I got through most of the war stuff in a hurry because, well, tanks rolling over cities isn't exactly dramatic. Next update will slow it down and have more storyline and less tanks-rolling-over-cities. :) Here's a hint: Ragnar wants us to glow in the dark. :p
