A couple people over in the RIFE forums tracked down and fixed the bug with immortals not being reborn. I've ported Cyth's fix to FF version 51, patch C. Changed source files and a working compiled dll are attached. I've tested it on two machines and it seems to work fine, but make sure to back up your old dll before using it.
known remaining bugs and quirks -
Units which defeat but don't kill an immortal don't lose any movement. They are charged an attack.
Rebirth announcements seems not to play when killing immortal barbarians with no cities in their starting plot after adding in worldbuilder.
