Immortal = Immoral?

The only reason I would want to be immortal is to see the Sun turn in a Red Giant and swallow the earth. That is to say, if you also cease being able to die, in a god-like sense of immortality.

After that I'd probably be trapped by the gravitation of the sun or something and get pulled into a black hole, forever.

Nothing immoral about wanting to stay alive forever... It's not like wanting to stay young is immoral.
 
I intend to see the Sun turn Nova at least 10,000 years after its happened. I should be at least that far away by then. There are about 20 stars in our galaxy per capita, and I intend to colonise my own by then. (of course, there are that many galaxies per capita as well, but colonising my own galaxy seems overly ambitious.)

Curing aging seems to be step 1 of that goal
